Re: Sadam Ali (WBO) vs. Liam Smith - TBA
I don't believe Sadam Ali is a natural light-middleweight and Liam Smith is a big 154lbs fighter. Home advantage could be a factor, but if it's in England then I make Beefy a fairly comfortable favourite.

Hopefully Ali.....

Re: Sadam Ali (WBO) vs. Liam Smith - TBA
At least this is a proper world title fight unlike the last time Liam fought for this title. He's facing the man who beat the man etc.
Re: Sadam Ali (WBO) vs. Liam Smith - TBA
Ali can beat Smith and I hope he does
Re: Sadam Ali (WBO) vs. Liam Smith - TBA
I'm genuinely struggling to think of a more unpopular British boxer than Smith. Normally a Brit fighting for the world title would have everyone behind him, but it says it all that most seem to actually want Ali to win.
Re: Sadam Ali (WBO) vs. Liam Smith - TBA
Paul Smith seems to be even more unpopular

I fancy Ali will win this in a close one via points
Smith has decent wins over Thompson and Williams but neither are world level.
Ali beat a shot Cotto. But that shot version of Cotto is still better than anything on Smiths record.
Hope Smith comes through though. Be interesting to See if that becomes the route Brook goes down.

I am convinced that Franks key motivation in getting these title shots is to mentally torture the ingrate brother who left him for a shinier promoter.
Its like he's saying "see, you ingrate - if you'd have stayed with me I would have got you some bullshit title shot, but you didn't / so I haven't".

Fighting Canelo was hardly a bull shit title shot and Ali is hardly a bull shit title holder compared to a lot of other title holders in boxing. His brother has somehow had more title shots than he deserves anyways an he couldnt even be bothered to make the wight for his biggest 1. I wonder whos made the most money though?

You cant just cherry pick one fighter - for every Canelo are a few Jimmy Kelly's.Wa1nuts wrote: ↑20 Mar 2018, 09:37bripez wrote: ↑20 Mar 2018, 09:28 I am convinced that Franks key motivation in getting these title shots is to mentally torture the ingrate brother who left him for a shinier promoter.

I don't know about money, but I would hope that when he was sent over to get a good hiding from Canelo that he earned "life changing money" (at least Eddie has this as an excuse).

Re: Sadam Ali (WBO) vs. Liam Smith - May 12th 2018
Did anyone else see Bunce's boxing hour (without Bunce)?
I was half listening but they said something about Liam Smith saying last weekend that Joe Gallagher might not be at his fight depending on confirmation of a fight in London.
In Mid May, not yet announced, what could be in the pipeline that would keep Joe away from one of his top fighters world title shot?
Other than Callum Smith fighting groves, which surely isn't happening that soon, what could it be?
