I’m 100% in this camp. Debating a cheeky flutter on King Kong.Riddick Blowe wrote: ↑26 Jan 2018, 09:37 In my view it's not totally clear how much Ortiz has aged.
If he still has it (Jennings performance eg) I would confidently pick him by stoppage.

He's been 15-7 to 16 for as long as I've followed him, so 15-5's only a few pounds lighter.
He clearly wants 12-round stamina to stay safe if he has to, and it seems to indicate that he's expecting Ortiz to be slow but dangerous.

I guess he will be running all day tomorrow, a bit Malik Scott style who also tried to "hit and run" all the time. Scott somehow forgot the "hit" part.

funny, the poll isnt that one sided but pretty much everywhere i look almost all ppl actually giving their prediction have it easy for wilder.
and thats after first saying he was a fraud and would never even fight a guy like ortiz

I doubt he will be hitting and running. He will be wanting speed to beat a 37yr old.
His power comes from his explosive speed so he needs it.
Re: Deontay Wilder (WBC) vs. Luis Ortiz - March 3rd 2018
Wilder is seriously fast twitch loaded. Just over 15 stone with that power is very rare.

Yeah it’s interesting actually, and why I don’t take much notice of polls on here - I suspect lots of people vote on polls quickly without putting much thought into it, but when pushed into actually making a proper prediction, they put a lot more consideration into it and come up with a different outcome.
Re: Deontay Wilder (WBC) vs. Luis Ortiz - March 3rd 2018
Can you explain what fast twitch means? Is that like a speedy footballer who is fantastic until his hamstrings go?
If that is right then wilder could only be 1 muscle injury away from losing his power.
Re: Deontay Wilder (WBC) vs. Luis Ortiz - March 3rd 2018
Most people have a reasonably even distribution of fast twitch fibres (in very, very basic terms your speed & power fibres) and slow twitch fibres (in very, very basic terms your endurance fibres).
A guy like Wilder is incredibly powerful and fast even though he’s very wiry, also think Tommy Hearns, and an athlete like Jonathan Edwards. Edwards’ speed and power was almost unreal. He was blessed with an incredibly high fast twitch to slow twitch ratio. Perfect for the triple jump.
Often not so great for endurance, particularly if you have poor economy of effort.

I question Wilders chin, and I think Ortiz will hit him back!
Ortiz is too well schooled to be caught by windmills!

I’ve got large sums on Wilder here. Mostly historic bets and accas.
Really not happy with his weight. Far to light against Ortiz.
Ortiz schooled enough to clinch him and lean on.
Might put a few quid other way; just in case.

your a braver man than me having a large sum on someone that hasn't passed the chin test yet ,imo . hope they come off for you. should be a right interesting fight given their different approaches.PredatorHayds wrote: ↑03 Mar 2018, 10:31 I’ve got large sums on Wilder here. Wilder has a monstrous shot on him, but bad footwork, bad understanding of timing and distance, Alot of things really so to me surely to God ortiz has enough savvy to beat wilder who ain't had a proper acid test on his jaw yet and ortiz won't be coming to roll over he'll be punching back, I gotta say ortiz

Re: Deontay Wilder (WBC) vs. Luis Ortiz - March 3rd 2018
People say that Wilder has never fought anyone until Ortiz so now he's in trouble.
I just say that Ortiz has never fought anyone until Wilder so now HE'S in trouble.
Too much is made of Wilder's resume. How many other top shelf heavyweights have fought a host of primo fighters?
Ortiz? Nah. Nobody.
Joshua? Just one and that was an end-of-the-road ancient Wlad. Otherwise, nobody.
Povetkin? Fought one quality guy and got battered.
So Wilder's record is just as legit as anyone's.
Nobody today has anything resembling an Ali-like ledger.

This is what worry’s me more than a anything. Ortiz taking a pay day and rolling over rather than Competing. I desperately hope not though as I think he has the tools.
