The power is very tasty. The chin? Stood up well tonight. Is Ortiz that heavy handed though?
Wilder working the Joshua/Parker fight with sky. Should be good, he’s a likable fella

Maybe. I don't think AJ is that skilled either. He's good at the fundamentals & very fit though.ThereByTheGrace wrote: ↑04 Mar 2018, 00:40Fair enough. I think hes a bit underrated as a boxer to be honest. He can jab and that uppercut was beautiful. If aj landed a shot like that the sky team would be jerking off for years
But Wilder is just terrible (at championship level) as a boxer. But his athleticism (BRILLIANT) & speed & punch make him more formidable than he should be .
And he has a winners mentality. I really am a fan.

I agree, Joshua is certainly a better boxer than Wilder but IMO is still pretty poor. Wilder is shockingly bad but my god he's athletic and I like you love the guy.Taansend wrote: ↑04 Mar 2018, 00:49Maybe. I don't think AJ is that skilled either. Tonight I thought he was clearly down but he just needs to clip someone once to change the fight.

Lets be honest, every heavyweight ATM has massive gaping holes in their game.

i am personally not putting wilder on a pedestal as a great, but at the moment bar a good tyson fury , he is the best about because of his power, name one boxer with more power in todays era
Re: Round-By-Round - Deontay Wilder (WBC) vs. Luis Ortiz - March 3rd 2018
Wilder smashes Fury inside 3 rounds. Fury's a joke, and Wilder ain't just gonna stand there and stare at him.

i think hes the best puncher in boxing
but aj has more then enough power to hurt him imo, plus better technique. we need that to determine a clear MAN
Re: Round-By-Round - Deontay Wilder (WBC) vs. Luis Ortiz - March 3rd 2018
A younger man will not let Wilder off the hook. First big shot Ortiz landed he was in a world of trouble. Good comeback but I'm more convinced than previously that Joshua wins.

Ortiz only landed that counter hook because wilder landed his own right beforehand and came in for the kill leaving himself open. Klitschko landed a right from outside on joshua. Completely different. Wilder is very awkward and with better reflexes than joshua. He rarely gets caught full blooded like joshua did. Even if wilder gets caught, hes taking the sting out of the punch usually
I think the ortiz wilder fight makses a bigger case for wilder beating joshua actually. Joshua will have a hard time landing the jab . In terms of power punches, Wilder is going to land his right hand on joshua first surely.

wilder gets caught fight after fight mate
molina rocked him, duhaupas shut his eye, szpilka landed many punches and many ppl had the pole ahead, washington out jabbed him, ortiz won several rounds and had him on jelly
the whole unorthodox effectivess is overrated too, hes effective in spite it and not because it. why do you think all these much shorter, less reach, way less powerful or athletically gifted guys have there moments?
because his styles filled with holes, its just that his great natural tools are enough to compensate

i just find this unorthodox/akwardness as a bonus line as questionable, a number of ppl are saying it but imo they mix up him being akward and effective with him being effective because hes akward
come on now, you really think that if it was a plus, that with that advantage, his height +reach, great power, speed, stamina, etc, that hed be having as tough of times as he has vs these shorter, less reach, far less gifted opponents?
those guys had there moments exactly because of the flaws that make up his akwardness/unorthodoxy

I think it's a case of who lands first if and when Wilder fights Joshua. I would probably edge towards Joshua purely on how they both start fights. Joshua seems to start a little better so may just land first out of the two.

Joshua will knock Wilder clean out.
Wilder is game and wild, but he eats straight rights and Joshua has a devastating straight right.

Wilder clearly a confident lad but how will he react to fighting in front of 90k? If he is edgy in the early rounds as he was tonight it could be a factor.

Re: Round-By-Round - Deontay Wilder (WBC) vs. Luis Ortiz - March 3rd 2018
I thought Molina caught him when they were exchanging left hooks. The duhappas fight was a brawl really, duhappas was using the crab style and coming forward and wilder was fighting on the inside a lot. Spilka i don't really remember landing much. Washington wasn't really getting anything done, it was more a case of Wilder doing very little I though.
The Joshua fight would look a lot like a fencing match like Joshua vs Wlad in terms of styles. joshua has to fight more cautiously surely. The best way to catch Wilder seems to be with counters whereas Joshua looks more susceptable to me at range as we saw in the Wlad fight. Wilder looks faster handed and more athletic and better reflexes. Joshua is pretty robotic really, definitely doesn't move as well. And Joshua was in way more trouble in the Wlad fight than Wilder has been. I think Joshua is more likely to get caught with a 1-2 from Wilder than Wilder is from him and this is a who lands first fight. I'll give the edge to Wilder if it happens. I don't think it's a fight that anyone can really feel confident picking one or the other. I think Wilder will probably either land cleanly on joshua early if joshua starts fast or more likely he is down a few rounds from doing nothing but threatening with the right hand cocked and then eventually lands. I wouldn't be surprised to see Joshua get him going early though. I'd say 60-40 Wilder for me.

Wilder can be great to watch but a lot of that is down to his vulnerability. Joshua hasn't really fought a better standard overall but Breazeale, Molina, Martin and Takam were all beaten without Joshua ever looking remotely bothered.
