The best DQ ever?

Post by BitPlayer »

"LaBlanche grabbed Childs by the waist, threw him down, and then kicked him. Despite being badly hurt, Childs got up quickly and grabbed LaBlanche in a half-nelson. Then he jerked LaBlanche into the air and threw him. The police got into the ring to stop the bout; Referee Mort Curran awarded Childs the decision. The boxers wore 4-ounce gloves. The Los Angeles Times "

Seriously, I think guy gives Mysterious Billy Smith a run for his money.

"LaBlance was disqualified for kicking his man in the groin."

And one of the best notes ever
"LaBlanche was drunk and knocked out in 20 seconds. "

You feel this trumps Holyfield-Tyson II? - Was there a guy who claimed he fought high on LSD, or am I confusing this with another sport?

The most deserved DQ was obviously Tyson biting Holyfield's ears... Biting one ear wasn't enough??? :o

How about the worst NON-DQ where referees ignore fouls??? .... I'll give you 5 that were an absolute JOKES!!!

Ali should have been DQ'd for refusing the referee's orders to go to a neutral corner for the entire count in Liston 2... I don't know a single instance in the entire HISTORY of QUEENSBERRY where another boxer got away with that type of behavior....

Riddick Bowe hit Jorge Luis Gonzalez several times well after the bell started clanging... Jim Lampley called him "STUPID" and said Bowe was "flirting" with a DQ.... FLIRTING??? He wasn't WARNED... The referee also pulled Gonzalez's wrists away when he attempted to clinch, giving Bowe free shots... How often have referees been disciplined for favoritism?

Robert Guerrero fouled Andre Berto with impunity all night long... Thumb strikes to the eyes... Holding and hitting to gasps of "SHADES OF LENNOX LEWIS" from Max Kellerman... Steer Wrestling, or you could call it "Bull Dogging" as he physically grabbed Berto, wrestled him, and shoved him against the ropes repeatedly... The crowning event was throwing at least 20 punches after the final bell started clanging like crazy.... Lou Moret was oblivious to his behavior.

Andre Ward hitting Sergei Kovalev with flagrant low blows with no reaction at all from Tony Weeks.

Lennox Lewis flagrantly fouled Vitali Klitschko with thumb strikes, head work, raking with the palm of the glove etc... I won't go in depth https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtdOteT5G0Q It has been discussed ad nedauseam.

And how about the WORST DQ ever??? .... Joe Cortez DQ'd Kirk Johnson for hitting his buddy John Ruiz with a borderline low blow... It wasn't intentional and didn't hurt Ruiz... Ruiz fouled Johnson all night with impunity... Head butts... holding... physically grabbing him and throwing him down... The commentators all said the DQ wasn't deserved.

The most memorable DQ itself was definitely Tyson vs Holyfield 2, but my personal favorite because of all the madness that follows is Bowe-Golota 1.

A guy from the audience walked up to Golota and smashed him in the head with his phone... At a time when cell phones were about the size of baseball bats... That was the best shot Golota took all night... Whoa baby!
