How do you see this fight going ?

Start by saying I really like Quigg but in has last few fights he has taken far too many shots and seems to have an attitude where he will take 2 to land 3 .
judging by the small clip of sparring that Selby had with Valdez in the beeb documentary he will not be able to take that gameplan into this fight .
Hoping he can carry it off , but it's got to be a tough ask and I can see him getting busted up in a really brave effort .

Be a good fight this, both strong boys who like to Come forward. Don't think either will have to go looking for the other. Valdez stops him late on

Valdez is a joy to watch when he starts whipping in hooks to head and body. Quigg just has to outman him. It depends how quigg reacts to the first few hooks. Valdez is there to be hit. Quigg is tough enough to pose problems. I dont see him winning.

Surely a very tough night for Scott in store. Valdez looks a fearsome puncher, and he takes a hell of a shot too.
But Scott has surprised us before ( lets try to forget the terrible Frampton effort ) he can punch and looks like he holds a shot well too - but could be a painful night.

Neither guy is a master boxer. Who is tougher? That'll decide who wins this. Usually I would go for Valdez but I think Quigg is tougher and could stop him.

Great fight this, styles should gel well, both strong aggressive and vicious body punchers, I think Valdez will be too fresh and too strong, Ive not been too impressed with Quigg since the Frampton loss and the switch to Freddie Roach, he was in a war with Simion when he got hit far too much and Yefimovich was outboxing him before he was stopped(prematurely IMO) credit to Quigg for still getting the wins and TBF the Cayetano KO was quality
I just think Quigg is maybe just getting over the hill for this level, Valdez defensively is wide open and Servania had him down last time, he moves out with his hands low and these wars he keeps having will shorten his career, I hope Quigg can catch him because he's a great finisher but I think if this ends up a shoot out the younger Valdez will be too strong, can see a mid to late KO
I'll be rooting for Quigg though, ive always been a fan

Valdez's last 2 fights he seemed to take a lot of unnecessary punishment

This is going to be a cracker.
I hope Quigg has enough left in him for the win. He's going to have to dig very deep to get Valdez out of there. Valdez is all action, but he has shown his own vulnerability of late.
Quigg needs a good start, and If he gets it I can see him wearing Valdez down. He hits hard enough does Quigg.

If Andy Vences had his way, he would thank every person that put him in the situation he is today. Vences’ path from amateur standout to unbeaten prospect did not come easy, but he is thankful to those who put him in the situation he is in today.
Vences has another opportunity Saturday night, where a victory would catapult him toward contender status.
Vences will face Erick De Leon in a battle of unbeaten junior lightweights at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. The 10-round bout will precede the 12-round main event between WBO featherweight titleholder Oscar Valdez and Scott Quigg.
The 26-year-old Vences (20-0, 12 knockouts) has built an unbeaten record facing and defeating modest opposition. In his last bout on November 11, Vences knocked out Jairo Ochoa in the second round.
The clash between Vences and De Leon (17-0, 10 KOs) is a compelling matchup between two fighters who have been brought up through the matchmaking of Top Rank, often fighting on ‘Solo Boxeo’ broadcasts on UniMas.
This will be the first time both have fought on a major network. The winner will likely receive another high-profile fight later this year or in 2019.
Vences envisioned a fight with De Leon as early as last year.
“I had a feeling Erick and I were going to fight after we appeared on the Aug. 5 (Vasyl) Lomachenko card in Los Angeles,” Vences told RingTV.com over the phone Tuesday. “I saw this happening. I was already preparing to fight him when the fight was officially announced. I was sparring southpaws and I believe I’m 10 steps ahead of him.”
“To the casual boxing fan, this looks like a 50-50 fight. But when you look at the backgrounds of each one of us, who has made the most progress? I’ve developed the most since turning pro. I’m sure Erick and his team (including trainer Robert Garcia) have studied film of my fights, but what they don’t take into account is how much I have evolved as a fighter. I always add something new with each fight or training session. Has he developed as a fighter? That’s the question.”
Vences resides in the San Jose area, about an hour south of San Francisco. Despite the lack of fight cards on a regular basis, Vences has made a name for himself in the Bay Area of California.
“Boxing may have died out over the years, but people know who I am in the area and they follow my career.”
Like many fighters, Vences has utilized boxing as a means to support himself and his family, which mean more to him than any world title belts.
That can be traced back to Vences’ humble roots while growing up in California’s rural areas.
“I’ve always had the mentality to work hard for what you want,” said Vences, who was born in the Northern California farming town of Watsonville. “Nothing will satisfy me more than to provide for my family the same way it was done for me when I was growing up. I don’t box for belts. Instead, I fight for financial stability.”
Vences is grateful for the opportunities that have been put in front of him thus far, including those from Top Rank. Vences was managed by Herb Stone, but Stone passed away last spring.
Vences admitted he fights on with a heavy heart without having Stone in his corner, but he battles on in his memory. Saturday night marks the one-year anniversary Vences fought Angel Hernandez, which was Stone’s final appearance in Vences’ corner before his death.
“I just turned what happened into a positive. A year ago from my fight with Erick and it was the last time Herb’s last fight in my corner. I think it’s more than a coincidence. I made it a point to dedicate each fight to Herb Stone. He took a chance on me when he signed me and I don’t take it for granted. I’m grateful he helped me out.”
Vences anticipates a difficult start to the fight, when De Leon is most dangerous. Vences believes he has too many intangibles to fall short against De Leon.
With the spotlight on the Vences-De Leon fight prior to the fireworks that Valdez-Quigg could be, Vences is eager to make a statement.
“I’ve never prepared mentally and physically the way I have for this fight. I’m on weight and I can’t wait for Saturday. I don’t only envision outboxing Eric, I know I will win on Saturday.”

Valdez has the look of someone who might develop into something special.
He can box. But he prefers to go to war, sometimes to his detriment.
I think he's too strong for Quigg, who will give it a go but will slowly be worn down.
Expect Valdez to put on an impressive performance before a highly partisan Mexican crowd.

I had Valdez winning 117-111, I never really enjoyed it as much as I thought it would, no lack of effort from either man but it wasn't competitive enough for me, I fancied Valdez to win but I thought Quigg would be in the fight, I know he's usually a slow starter and Valdez is a quick but after 6/7 rounds I fancied it to develop into a fun fight but for me Valdez was pretty much better in every department, he was busier, more intelligent and his body punching was the difference, time and again he dug in hurtful lefts into Quigg's body, TBF to Quigg he stood up to Valdez's power all night and never stopped coming forward but he looked crude in there and accuracy was way off and Valdez has never been the hardest to find
Quigg probably hurt Valdez more than he was hurt himself in the whole fight when he hurt Valdez at the end of the 5th round where Valdez looked to hold on but apart from the odd single shot it was all Valdez pretty much, Quigg put Valdez under pressure with his feet but not enough with his hands and the size/weight difference never told really
