Unless I just live in a boxing bubble, the younger generation are far more interested in boxing than ever. Gyms and shows, am, pro, charity, unlicensed, BKB have never been as busy.

I think a lot of the younger lads are more interested in that UFC stuff. My son is 28 and most of his mates talk about it. Looking at younger lads I know its UFC that seems to be talked about more than boxing. They seem to be interested in Anthony Joshua though.

A few guys I know like both. It's nowhere near on the scale of boxing, though, or on the scale of UFC 2015.

I actually think UFC may be something of a burst bubble. It doesn't seem to be anywhere near the level of boxing in this country; younger lads I work with aren't talking about anything associated with MMA bar McGregor and that was down to him fighting Floyd. Joshua is legitimately massive in a way someone like Bisping never could be.

I mean, I get the impression when he started boxing it wasn't really something he enjoyed but other people thought he would be good at because he was a physically imposing specimen.

I know his career was nearly derailed before it began due to his eye but watching him (as I did at the time on TV) he never looks particularly comfortable or natural. He had a good jab and was always in great physical shape but he did look short of ideas at times. It's boxing, you're getting hit in the head by big blokes but he always looked utterly clueless once hit with a big shot. I think calling him glass chinned is unfair because if his chin was that bad, surely the first big shot that landed would have had him on his back. He tended to get hit and just stand there and not try and grab or survive. I guess you could call that lack of instinct.
He took up boxing because he was a violent and troubled teenager and it brought him discipline. He was on a list of dangerous teenagers listed by the school system. I seem to recall he battered his headmaster as a 14 year old and was expelled from school.

Was it the Lewis fight where he broke down after saying he "wasn't no Uncle Tom"? That really seemed to get inside his head.
Think that was actually after the McCall fight when he finally won the title, it was all a bit too much for him and he broke down.
