Only a suggestion.
Make contact with Blain McGuigan and try for a Commonwealth title fight on the undercard of Cyclones next show in Scotland with Josh Taylor.
With a full house Clark could do it - and good money as well.
If Cyclone thought Clark could sell 200 tickets he'd jump at it I'm sure.
Big problem of course is whether the two promoters speak to each other. It's the same old problem though. Managers are employed to look after their boxers best interest. They then enter deals with a promoter and they lose control.

Spot on with that a bit on common sense there.. I have already said this especially more interesting with Jordan McRorry being in line for the commonwealth title.. I think everyone can see Ronnie needs to be fighting in Scotland but hopefully this can be ironed out and if the rematch happens next Hopefully can make sure in the contract the Ronnie isn’t tied down to anyone.. Walsh had to vacate to fight for the world title

Davie is spot on as well and it’s great to have that offer of support from Aberdeen is always a great show up there

I can't see Ronnie being allowed to fight on another's promotors card if Warren has options on him?

Warren said today that they're trying to make the Clark/Barrett rematch for June. Surprised they're making it straight away.

True looking like the second of June. Absolute pish money and needing to go into Manchester so the loser gets paid more and also fights in his back garden. All that is wrong with boxing, I would love for Warren to need to do 36 minutes of being punched in the face and maybe then he would realise his scum bag moves are a disgrace to the sport. Again Ronnie is the challenger but its fine, he won on 18 days notice cutting a massive amount of weight, give him 11 weeks and were gonna see and even better version, Barrett interview he talks of his chin etc and he learned alot, but Ronnie has also learned alot and he made a.mistake in the 6th. This time he won't and hell make zelfa pay for Warrens behaviour. All motivation

He will beat him again mate. Has his number. Those who watched it live had the 116.111 card bang on. Biased commentary. Shots were not even landing half the time. We can't wait and the contract will be signed at this end but we'll see how they do it.

They don't wanna give notice. They wanna mess about and leave hanging. Make out they have English mandatory then start throwing dates about. Date they have given Ronnie is ready and waiting. Alot of comparisons etc with hearn and allegedly and people dislike hearn but aleast the man has basic levels of respect. No doubt they will up the ante this time but it's fine cause all the have to throw won't be enough. Zelfa is a good fighter and people will say scorecards wernt 116.111 but it was wide.. the commentary and creaming over shots that were missing made it tv close but live it was wide. Well take the full camp and well see June 2nd.

Well it's not going to be in Scotland is it. My pet hate we boxing is our Scottish lads build up here do everything there meant to. Alot of them sell tickets yet they still need to come to England to fight in anything meaningful.and even when they win a return is in England also. And before you say it's about what sells Dundee would sell out easy and very easy to make. Barret has fought in smaller places before. Fact is Ronnie is a bigger seller than zelfa. That fight could be made on an mtk show. Boxers mentality should be well he got the win so I'll go anywhere to get that back not this lot. Suppose it's the same in life though us Scots don't stand a chance.

Clark had fought his last four fights against knock overs in Belfast hotels before fighting Barrett. Why didn’t his management team find him a date in Scotland back then ? Probably because he doesn’t sell anything like the numbers of tickets his brothers would have you believe ! He’s getting what looks like a televised slot on Fury’s comeback at the Manchester Arena with plenty of notice. I’m presuming he’s getting more than he got first time around and probably ten times more than he got for fighting at the Europa Hotel in Belfast. I think Clark’s family members on here are totally over estimating his value as usual.

Doesn't sell? Ask blain mcguigan, Paul Graham, David McAllister if he sells. Also I'm sure it was saltire who done the Dundee show who can tell you that. I sell his tickets personally and can give you exact break down of every fight taking into account most his fights are at least an hour away. He fought in Belfast cause that's where he was based and needed to stay active. No other reason. While being in Belfast he was scheduled to fight in Edinburgh which cyclone screwed up with visa and he refused to fight a knockover due to amount of tickets he sold.. Also fought in Aberdeen while with Mark Dunlop. If right opportunities came up He would fight there. I deal with facts and speak with any of them guys above. For a tune up fight in Aberdeen before Martin j ward he sold over 75 with about 3 weeks notice. I know for a fact we would sell out Dundee.

Ronnie manager is from Belfast that’s the only reason he has been fighting over there.. If he is putting on shows clearly he will put Ronnie on it makes sense. As for fighting in Scotland and promoter will tell you he sells 100 plus tickets for every show out with Dundee and the 2 shows in Dundee he sold 500 tickets.. Dundee is getting right behind Ronnie would easily sell out the Caird Hall which holds over 2000... As for over estimating his value.. He beat Barrett and beat him well on 18 days notice. Why should he have to do a rematch at all?? 99% if response from the fight say Ronnie won.. Hard to find anyone who fought Zelfa won.. Did Ronnie get a Rematch against Ward or any of his close fights?? We believe the fight should be in Scotland and more so in Dundee!! If they want a rematch why not do the right thing?? End of the day they will do what they want and Ronnie will proper punish him this time.. Boxing is full of fakes and snakes but Ronnie is real and you will see a more spiteful Ronnie in this fight. Will be over 100 of us down for this fight and after he knocks Zelfa out hopefully they won’t ask for another rematch 😂😂

im not doubting the merit of Clark’s win but he doesn’t create any interest outside of Dundee. Fact.

Why did you accept the original offer with options ? You could have fought someone in Dundee. Top of the bill in front of 2000 of your own fans instead ?

I don't know what people are moaning about.

Clark has been offered a fight against Barrett (who they believe he will beat), with good notice, for presumably more money than he would get in Belfast in a 6 rounder against some journeyman.

Surely, its a win/win ?

They accepted a standard 3 fight contract as to fight for any title on there shows you need to. Wasn't an option. There is no rematch clause but unless he accepts it then guess what happens? Do you have any knowledge on behind the scenes in boxing? Not cheeky just genuine as u may be am ex pro for all I know.

Ronnie certainly generates interest in all of Scotland and has fans everywhere he goes due to his personality. Anyone who has met him will tell you that. He sells tickets in Belfast and only goes there to train. He's an interesting character.

Amnt gonna debate with tickets. I know the facts so don't ever make out I am lying. There are names in my original post contact any of them for confirmation. I am biased but a liar I am not. We are to honest.. reason why most prmotors and managers etc do t like us cause we don't listen to there rubbish say it how it is

The money is not enough. All risk no reward. That's the point

Ronnie doesn’t want to fight any 6 round journeymen he wants to fight the likes of Frenois, Boschiero and Dibb.. It just shows how corrupt boxing is. Do you think Warren really cares if Zelfa Barrett gets beat again?? Do you think when Ronnie wins he is going to all of a sudden promote Ronnie?? It’s definitely not a win/win this is what’s wrong with boxing.. Fact is Ronnie won in London on a home show no matter what they threw at him he smashed through everything.. Where’s Ronnie’s best interests looked after in this fight?? Anyway is all irrelevant like you said he has plenty of notice.. This will bring the best out in Ronnie so is a good thing

Hi Jamie - if you read my previous posts (going back a couple of years when Ronnie used to post) I am a supporter.

I don't have any knowledge behind the scenes - just making a general point that as you are so confident of Ronnie winning, then there is little risk, and as there aren't better options available at this point then this seems like a good fight for Ronnie to take.

Just out of interest - the 3 fight deal, will this be fight 2 of 3? - if Ronnie wins then what happens, does he have to fight whoever and wherever the promoter says? if he loses is there still a third fight or can the promoter let him go at that point - also are the purses pre-agreed and in the contract?

Finally, can Ronnie fight anywhere else in the meantime or does he have to do the 3 fights first? if so, what if the promoter doesn't actually come up with a third fight? is there a time limit in the contract?

eg. 3 fights over 12 months for £x per fight and cant box for any other promoter in the meantime?

I remember when a promoter signed Choi after Prizefighter and I thought that he would do really well, was really marketable and would finally get a break, but the promoter just tied him up and didn't give him any fights - shit situation as you have to take the deal offered or you just don't fight.

3 defences but 2 within 12 months of you lose contract get tore up is the upshot.. Promoter is meant to act in the boxers best interests.. Also manager and boxer have final say on decisions but as you have said with Choi could get tied up and screwed over.. These contracts should not be allowed in my opinion it’s a way of manipulating fighters and promoters/managers and the BBBofC should all be acting in the fighters interest after all they are the ones risking their lives every time they fight.. Boxing is what it is And Ronnie has always had it the hard way so no change now.. No doubt he will get messed about as per usual but end of the day his heads right and watch the next few fights especially this one it will be brutal.. I really rate Zelfa but this is Warren throwing him to the wolf again. He can and will never beat Ronnie especially at Super Featherweight.. Ronnie has his number if I was Zelfa and Pat I would be raging they need to rebuild not get beat again

I am surprised about the immediate rematch.
He is a young lad and would have expected him to either move up in weight or have 2 or 3 fights and gave a rematch at the end of the year.

Does Barret do good tickets?

I know most of his fights have been on his uncles shows and it sounds like Frank doesn’t think that he reach the level they have been saying.

It sounds like the promoter wants him to lose so he can fook him off (standard contract term of losing 2 consecutive fights allowing the promoter to cancel all contracts).

I believe Warren thinks Barrett win win rematch to be honest but they are clueless... they are fighting a different version. Ronnie has been screwed over in past and the amount of things that have went on is unreal. We have always backed him cause we knew there is more in the tank. I can't teach heart.

I would love Ronnie to write a book once he's done with boxing and out the snakes. He's also a very funny guy and he could talk all day so it's a must.
