That seems to have been a very quiet announcement

Probably just wants the belt back quickly and quietly to bring back over here that last fight was an embarrassment

It doesn't feel like a real fight unless Wes has two or three threads about it :verysad:

Not convinced he gets the win to be honest. He's made a habit of taking breathers, walking around the ring, hanging on the ropes etc. Truax at this point has his number.

DeGale might even be stopped unless he ups his game.

I agree, he needs to put in a full stint and I just don't understand that insipid little probing jab he throws........ I just think Truax will continue to out work him and press through his defence until he ups his work rate and stops the guy in his tracks. Degale needs momentum from first to last.

Agree. Truax is gonna bring it and take it to him. Winning the title would've given him a massive boost and will take him up a level. Does DeGale have that dog in him he'll need to grind out a win? I'm not sure anymore. He went to the well against Jack but it looks as if that's taken a lot outta him.

I thought the fight would be over here and I expected DeGale to take the win but I'm not so sure now.

It's a shame. He really went to war with Jack and although it was a draw, I was impressed at his desire. You're right though and I'd been saying that long before he was champion. It looked like average guys had a shot at beating him by simply being more active. Less face it, Degale is extremely skilled, one of the best in that sense, seems to have wasted it

So Degale is running straight back in having changed absolutely zero. No wonder Frank and Eddie wanted no part in funding the rematch. I’m going for Truax again on points/ he’s far from anything special but he has James’ number IMO.

That's why I was confused. I've heard nothing but it's listed on Boxrec on the Lara Hurd bill :maybe:

Just think Degale was never skilled enough to be able to take rounds off like top fighters can.

In his fights with Groves, Bute and Jack he had good rounds because he upped his output not because he was in anyway more gifted or more skilful. Always a hard man. Always had the desire and the fight.

I worry about his shoulder, he couldn't form a solid enough jab to keep Truax off, which is why the Yank got to wander in & unload last time. His movement wasn't as good as it used to be, either.

I think degale lacks motivation and the advantage of home fights. He’s been on the road in some hard fight and I think it might have worn him out. Maybe he’s rejuvenated and motivated now? Anyone seen much of him recently?

One wonders how the motivation can't be there for James.
His performance was lacklustre last time out. Who would want to go out on that?
The loss has to have woken him up to being more active from round 1 after watching it back.
Skill wise, Degale has it over Truax.
He is taking the rematch (it seems as though it's happening) so he must still want that belt back...

Looking forward to this. Uzcategui will beat up the winner though.

Also hope Hurd can somehow smash Lara to bits.

Hurd is a fun fighter but he's pretty slow. Would expect Lara to box is head off
