The most fan friendly style (the active boxers ) ?
What do you think ? Why ?
As I was limited by 10 options only, I have not put on my list some fighters (Bivol, Charlo brothers etc....).

Wilder. He may be the least talented of the choices which really isn't an insult as the other names are very good.
You know, but Shavers was more interesting than Chris Byrd.

Loma.
I don't think I've seen the sweet science portrayed as well since the '80s and guys like Sugar Ray etc. He may even be better.

Erroll Spence is dynamite. Brings everything to the table every night and so very talented.

My first thought too. An intelligent/knowledgeable fan’s favourite surely. Not some kind of lunatic one-trick-pony-KO-artist (I’ll mercifully refrain from giving examples) but a complete fighter. Great in all departments, with an entertaining style, always willing to dominate his opponent.

Probably Spence off of that list.
I'm a fan of the Charlo's styles as well.

Now, the best fighter, imo, is Loma. In the 20+ years I've been following the sport, Loma is by far the most complete and technically sound fighter I have ever seen. That being said, that doesn't always add up to the most fan friendly style.
Re: The most fan friendly style (the active boxers ) ?
I will take a further at Loma per your recommendation. Been watching for over 50 years, but...I am one who still learns.Impractical Poster wrote: ↑10 Mar 2018, 16:40oogiebe wrote: ↑10 Mar 2018, 16:33*GASP!* lolImpractical Poster wrote: ↑10 Mar 2018, 16:31 Probably Spence off of that list.

That's why I said the 80's since I've been blessed to watch the display Loma puts on.oogiebe wrote: ↑10 Mar 2018, 16:46I will take a further at Loma per your recommendation. There are a lot of exciting guys right now that I like to watch, but Loma pushes the skill level way beyond what I see from Crawford or Thurman for example
Problem is, most guys will avoid him.

Depends what you mean by fan friendly really. In terms of overall appeal to casual fans, I’d have to say Joshua - very aggressive heavyweight who always looks for a KO, looks physically great and has built up a huge following because of it.
But my personal favourites to watch currently are Spence, Mikey Garcia and Crawford.

I mean about casual fans (95 % boxing fans). The best example from the past is Tyson, definitely.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑10 Mar 2018, 17:24 Depends what you mean by fan friendly really. Personally, I have perhaps seven or eight friends who are typical casual fans; they have never watched Loma or Rigo, and they will never watch them. They are interested for HW, mainly, and they like to see spectacular KOs, something like Joshua-Klitschko or Wilder-Ortiz...........................

Ok then yeah, definitely Joshua. I have tickets to the Parker fight later this month - the guys I’m going with don’t care about boxing, but they love Joshua. He’s crazy popular over here.ValMar wrote: ↑10 Mar 2018, 17:37I mean about casual fans (95 % boxing fans). Joshua and Wilder deserve to be popular. Tyson Fury is a very interesting person, too, and he is pretty well known in my part of world. Before mentioned friends have in common opinion about Klitschko brothers (they were the genuine champions, intelligent, devoted and gentlemen, last but not least - they are our Slavic cousins) but they were boring to watch.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑10 Mar 2018, 17:43Ok then yeah, definitely Joshua. Loma is the man!

When you say fan, do you mean people like us who are probably perfectionists, or the average fan who may only tune into the big fights?
If you're talking the average fan, then it's Wilder for me.
Fans like KO artists & the more reckless they are, the more entertaining they are to the masses.
Couple that with the fact the Wilder appears to be able to fight through adversity, that will only enhance his fan friendly credentials.
For perfectionists like us, then it will be the likes of Spence Jr or maybe Crawford; guys who look like they have all the tools & the skillset & no weaknesses.

Re: The most fan friendly style (the active boxers ) ?
I had to go with Spence Jr's style over the other current fighters. I love his command inside the ring and how he dictates the action. You just have a feeling when watching him that we haven't seen half of this guys skills or ability yet. I think this kid may be an ATG kind of special fighter if he keeps his head on straight.

Hurd is my favourite US boxer...great style...

Heavies have the advantage with the casual fan so for now I'd edge Joshua over Wilder. There are more lulls in the action in Wilder fights - fans booed during Wilder-Ortiz, though in the end no doubt they felt they'd had their money's worth. And yeah, Joshua's crowd is more partisan and so less likely to boo anyway, but he hasn't so far engaged in any many dull rounds generally as DW either.
