I really think Mikey Garcia will rule the roost at 140 for as long as he wants to stay there. I dont think either Ramirez or Prograis could beat Garcia right now, though I agree that Prograis-Ramirez is a pick 'em fight.Mexi-Box wrote: ↑10 Mar 2018, 01:48Styles. Prograis is more defensibly vulnerable, but he looks like he has an iron chin and plods forward with heavy jabs. Indongo just isn't world class. Postol would've been a lot better, and it would've told us more about Prograis. Still, Postol and Indongo are such weak fighters. They're pretty irrelevant in the division right now.
Prograis and the Ramirez/Imam winner will be a huge fight coming up. I think Ramirez should destroy Imam, but Ramirez/Prograis is 50-50.

I think H2H Diaz beats Postol, and Diaz was coming with a pretty impressive resume. Arguably beat Peterson who arguably beat Garcia and beat Sammy Vazquez Jr. on late notice IIRC. I didn't watch his fight with Granados, though, so I can't comment on that.Best Coast wrote: ↑10 Mar 2018, 01:56Looks like I (and many others) overrated Indongo, based on his sorry performance tonight. But I still think TC's best win was over Postol, who was coming off that domination of Matthysse. Diaz hasnt impressed me that much as a pro...we'll see how he does in the WW tourney.Mexi-Box wrote: ↑10 Mar 2018, 01:38 Easy pick. I'm surprised so many were "wowed" by Indongo's unified status. His resume was paper-thin, and he looked absolutely horrific against Crawford. Division was just horrific when Crawford cleaned it out. Crawford's best win is probably Diaz Jr.
Troyanovksy and shot Burns aren't world-class wins.
Now that Prograis confirmed that Indongo cannot take body shots he's definitely done at top-level. Though I thought it would be a more competitive fight I knew if Prograis followed Crawford's body-banging strategy he would win sooner or later against the long, lean Indongo.
I also think that Diaz will still be hanging around while Postol is probably going to be irrelevant as soon as he fights someone like Prograis, Ramirez, or Taylor. Also, Postol/Matthysse was razor close until the KO. It was no domination.

I meant Postol's demolition of Matthysse, not domination. Would you agree that neither Prograis or Ramirez is ready for the likes of Mikey Garcia at 140? I see him ruling the roost at 140 for the foreseeable future.Mexi-Box wrote: ↑10 Mar 2018, 02:06I think H2H Diaz beats Postol, and Diaz was coming with a pretty impressive resume. Re: REGGIE PROGRAIS vs JULIUS INDONGO. WHO WINS & HOW?
Hard to say. They're both very large, very skillful fighters. Prograis barely made weight tonight, and it's an anomaly that Ramirez even makes weight. Prograis has a few holes to plug with his leaky defense, but he seems to always fight like that. Ramirez, on the other hand, just seems to get better and better everytime I watch him. Dude went from UD'ing tiny Manuel Perez to running through his last 4 opponents.Best Coast wrote: ↑10 Mar 2018, 02:17I meant Postol's demolition of Matthysse, not domination. Mikey ruling the division as it stands would be a great feat. The division is exponentially better than when Crawford was in it. I favor Mikey 60-40 over Prograis and Ramirez with that said, though.

Great win for Prograis
He was able to close the gap well without being caught. Has some nice power too. Definitely puts him on the map with the top names at the weight

Taken aback when I read on my forum from predictions that Indongo would be a huge step up for Prograis. Honestly, I think Joel Diaz Jr. is an all-around better fighter than Indongo.

Re: REGGIE PROGRAIS vs JULIUS INDONGO. WHO WINS & HOW?
You've said all along that Indongo was vastly overrated. Given your low opinion of Julius do you think we could be making too much of Reggie's easy destruction of the lanky African?
Although my reassessment of Indongo still gives him more credibility than you do, it will interesting to see how Prograis does against someone who is more durable than Indongo. Such as Jose Ramirez or Ivan Baranchyk...
Prograis walked right through Indongo & Diaz & I cant wait to see him against top-notch comp that he's UNABLE to walk through.
Re: REGGIE PROGRAIS vs JULIUS INDONGO. WHO WINS & HOW?
Don't you think that Indongo looked like a broken fighter...perhaps he never recovered from being wrecked by his hero.Best Coast wrote: ↑10 Mar 2018, 01:56Looks like I (and many others) overrated Indongo, based on his sorry performance tonight. Matthysse was supposedly knocked out in sparring by up and coming fighter Vergel Ortiz. Take that for what you will.
Re: REGGIE PROGRAIS vs JULIUS INDONGO. WHO WINS & HOW?
Prograis does have leaky defense. I do think Mikey would be his worst matchup because of that. Prograis is class, though. You can see it in his fights. He's also exciting.Best Coast wrote: ↑10 Mar 2018, 22:10You've said all along that Indongo was vastly overrated. I think Prograis was legit all along. As I said, the Diaz Jr. fight really proved him. Indongo was just icing on the cake.

Re: REGGIE PROGRAIS vs JULIUS INDONGO. WHO WINS & HOW?
I dont think his KO loss to Crawford did much to damage him physically (it was body shots), but I think it was a confidence-buster that undermined his belief in his own ability. Then again, Indongo's confidence was based on easy wins over Troyanovsky & Burns. Neither of those guys is on the level of Crawford or Prograis.oogiebe wrote: ↑10 Mar 2018, 22:15Don't you think that Indongo looked like a broken fighter...perhaps he never recovered from being wrecked by his hero.Best Coast wrote: ↑10 Mar 2018, 01:56Looks like I (and many others) overrated Indongo, based on his sorry performance tonight. him vs the ramirez vs imam winner would be great. its mandated by the wbc so i hope no promoter politics (top rank vs haymon) stop it
