The Future?
The Future?
When I was in 5th grade we had a Boxer come visit our class, I cannot remember his name but he used the alias, The Future. I Got his autograph and have kept it since, and I would like to find out who he is so I can display it with a picture. I can't make out his name, here is the signature He was an African American man and was an adult when i was in 5th grade, like 1998. The only boxer i find when I google The Future boxer nickname, was born a year before me so it's not him lol

Where you located? that might narrow it down
Re: The Future?
The 1st name almost looks like Orlin
EDIT: Just scanned the database for all boxers named Orlin...mostly just Orlando's came up, but I didn't see any fighter named Orlin with the nickname "The Future"
Didn't see many named Orlin at all for that matter, and for another matter...that might not even be the name, that's just what it kinda looks like to me

Re: The Future?
It could have been an amateur boxer, referencing his future as a professional.
It could be Ollie or Phil. Maybe Jackson.

Re: The Future?
For what it's worth, the last name starts with an F (see the F in Future). The first name may be Jim.

Re: The Future?
I don't feel that the first letter of the name and the letter F are the same.
The F has a straight line going down. The first letter of the name is all loopy. No straight line.

Re: The Future?
heavyweight Phil Jackson actually looks quite a lot how I remember the gentleman looking. But he definitely went by The Future.SenorPipino wrote: ↑15 Mar 2018, 22:37
Would that be the retired heavyweight Phil Jackson or the NBA Phil Jackson?
When the NBA Jackson was a player with the Knicks, he had a reputation as an enforcer too.
I appreciate all the help I am getting from here! I have been searching on and off for this for years and never thought to find a boxing forum

Re: The Future?
The OP said that the "mystery boxer" was an older gentleman.
Boxer Phil Jackson would have been about 33 years old 20 years ago.
I don't think that qualifies as an older gentleman, but I guess when you're in 5th grade, anyone over 25 looks really old.
