Re: What's Next For Quigg?
What a tough, brave man Quigg is. Massive respect to him for that performance. Didn’t have a great camp and that probably impacted his ability to perform at his best last night but he still kept coming right to the end even though no belt was on the line.
Only Scott will really know if the roach move is working out for him. But speaking as a layman who’s never fought I might be making a trivial point but roach seemed to take ages to get the stool in between rounds depriving Scott of vital seconds of rest. I know Fred has his problems but surely it’s simple enough to delegate that task ffs

I respect that opinion
But it doesn't change the fact that you posting a photo to try to prove a petty point was pathetic. Fighters often look rough straight after a fight win or lose. It's a tough game.
Re: What's Next For Quigg?
I'm not not picking. I agree Quigg fought to the very best of his abilities, showing courage and heart. I guess I was hoping for some improvement in his weak areas that changing coaching might have ironed out.SenorPipino wrote: ↑11 Mar 2018, 16:40 So much animosity and complaining here.
I thought last night's bout was simply a terrific contest, no matter who you were rooting for.
Both Quigg and Valdez dug down as deep over 12 rounds as you're ever likely to see with two fighters.
Lesser fighters---and that would include quite a few---would have quit in the face of the adversity each encountered.
Busted nose. Fractured jaw. Half severed tongue. Blood dripping everywhere. Absolute exhaustion.
So how can anyone question the resolve, resiliency and refuse-to-lose mentality displayed in that ring last night?
Sure Quigg came in overweight, and for that, he does deserve condemnation.
But with nothing to gain, he fought his heart out and displayed the moxie few modern boxers care to develop.
And Valdez, with his superior movement and quickness, probably could have played it safe and boxed his way to a comfortable, dull decision.
Instead the battered champion went toe to toe with the much bigger, strong Quigg and yet came away with a deserved, gut-check decision.
Is there anyone out there who wouldn't want to see both Valdez and Quigg in the ring again, after last night's war?
It was FOTY worthy and yet too many prefer to nitpick instead about the deficiencies of each boxer.
They should both be applauded.

Quigg made a lot of fans with the way he fought. If only he had made the weight.
Re: What's Next For Quigg?
Quigg did well. At one point I thought he might run Valdez down but Valdez still had enough in the tank.
Plenty of fights for Quigg. He's proved himself to be at the very top level.

Re: What's Next For Quigg?
Galahad v Quigg would be a tasty match up,it would tell us where Galahad is and also tells us what Quigg has left at the top of the food chain.

Yes he has, thats why I asked if Kid's team would take the risk?Pugilist-specialist wrote: ↑12 Mar 2018, 16:35
Galahad has been calling Quigg out for years. I'm sure he'd be happy to send him to retirement but his next fight could be a final eliminator.
If Galahad gets the eliminator, that would put the Quigg fight as a high risk-low reward.
Like a lot of others, I would love to see that fight made, it's perfect timing for Quigg, but Galahad is seemingly headed in a different direction.

Re: What's Next For Quigg?
I think they're hoping for a final eliminator in June. Galahad is no.7 with the WBC and no.5 with the IBF. Quigg is not ranked with the 3 main bodies and looking at the damage on his face, unlikely to be ready for June.KiwiRider wrote: ↑12 Mar 2018, 17:28 Yes he has, thats why I asked if Kid's team would take the risk?![]()

Re: What's Next For Quigg?
stay at Featherweight.
Fight Escandon, Barros, Garcia or Guitierrez next and get back to winning ways.
Scott Quigg vs. Kid Galahad is the fight to make in the near future for both men...
