Wilder vs top heavyweights from previous eras

Post by Boxing Writer »

Ortiz fight has shown us that Wilder is not as bad as some people thought he is. He has height, reach, very good speed and amazing power. Wilder also is gutsy fighter, his reflexes and stamina are good and his chin definitely isn't made of glass. How, in your opinion, Wilder would do against top heavyweights of the last 30 years?

Mike Tyson
Evander Holyfield
Lennox Lewis
Riddick Bowe
Wladimir Klitschko
Vitali Klitschko
Old George Foreman
Michael Moorer
Buster Douglas
Tim Witherspoon
Ray Mercer
Chris Byrd
David Tua
Hasim Rahman
Lamon Brewtser
John Ruiz
Corrie Sanders

Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis, Bowe, both Klitschkos are definitely too much for Wilder. Witherspoon, Mercer, Sanders could have been a tough challenge also.

Now that he's seen off a 40 year Cuban who hadn't really beaten anyone it's obvious he's the greatest fighter ever & would beat all the above named fighters at the same time.

In Bold would beat Wilder IMO.

Wilder is really a one dimensional fighter; a one trick pony if you will. He's Earnie Shavers in another body. He has better stamina and a better chin, but he's all power, no fluidity and I account for that in my guesses here.

Either Klitschko would destroy Wilder. So would Mike Tyson.
