Bob mentioned that Raymundo Beltran will very likely become Lomachenko’s next opponent if he emerges victorious from his next outing against Paulus Moses on February 16th.

I find the Ray Beltran fight disgusting. He has nothing for Lomachenko a complete mismatch, like a lot of his bouts.

If he beats Beltran, he would have captured another WBO title in a third weight class.

We also know that the WBO is an organisation that both Bob Arum and Lomachenko has close ties with.

According to The RING and ESPN, Raymundo Beltran is rated fourth and seventh respectively in the 135lbs ratings. He is also promoted by Top Rank, making the fight very easy to make… and he’ll likely become a world champion in the next couple of weeks. It’s an easy fight to sell to the mainstream masses.

On paper, it’s not a mismatch, but we all have to remember that it isn’t easy matchmaking Lomachenko against an opponent that is capable of being competitive.

Whilst the outcome is almost certainly a foregone conclusion, it’s not a “disgusting” matchup and I feel your reaction is a tad over-the-top, because politics, TV network rivalries and finances are often the reason why certain bouts cannot be made.

beltrans an okay fighter, prob top 10 at 135 and likely to have a belt, but imo hes like a jason sosa level of opponent. i just dont find it very interesting at all but i know arum loves in house stuff. linares on the other hands probably the top lightweight aside from garcia, whose taken a break from the division anyway

please linares and not beltran! fight off the bob father this time loma!

This is my point. Sosa had no business in there either. Loma will never be a star fighting these fights. I understand it’s difficult to make others, mostly due to Arum being a scum sucking mother fûcking whore.

Please, Beltran knocks out Linares. Beltran is a better fight all around. Look at the poll already. Who thinks Linares has a chance? Lomachenko made his name fighting dudes like Linares in the amateurs. Beltran at least has power.

Bring on the fight !!! :box: :box: :box: Just please no Beltran fight. Robert Easter is still here if Linares fight would not happen in may. Maybe they can still make Lomachenko - Berchelt fight in summer or september (after Berchelt - Roman fight which 100% happen IMO)

Is there any chance Paulus Moses (40-3, 25 KO's) upsets Beltran in Reno this Friday?

Can you include an option that says Lomachenko outclasses yet another top opponent and makes him quit?

Moses has been around for a while. I think he's approaching 40. He hasn't exactly beaten a slew of world class opponents.

He lost convincingly to Ricky Burns who was gifted with a draw against Beltran.

It doesn't seem likely that Moses can beat Beltran.

You simply have to hope that he puts in a better showing than hopeless Ahmed did against Ramirez in another ESPN/Top Rank championship card a few weeks ago.

Odds makers don't give the Namibian fighter much of a chance either. He's a 20-1 underdog. The same as Povetkin over Price and Khan over Lo Greco.

Concern that holding a proposed Lomachenko-Linares bout on the 12th (televised by either SHOWTIME or ESPN) will clash with the HBO replay of the May 5 Canelo-Golovkin rematch.
