Loma vs Linares
A deal is being reported by media outlets for May 12. I like Loma to undress Linares here.

Too bad.
I was hoping Mikey Garcia was going to get the opportunity to undress him first.

ESPN reports that the fight is now signed for May 12.
Contracts were signed yesterday after ESPN agreed to start the televised card early so it wouldn't conflict with a Golden Boy event that will be shown the same night on HBO.

Multiple sources are reporting that it is finalized with ESPN broadcast having been moved to 5 pm PT to satisfy GB/HBO requirements.

Re: Loma vs Linares
I wonder if Linares' WBC Diamond Belt will be on the line.
If it is and Lomachenko wins, then he would become Mikey's mandatory, and it will be funny to watch Mikey run to 140 after that happens

Re: Loma vs Linares
Linares has quit before. Not a real gutsy guy.
So Lomachenko may very well extend his streak of fighters packing it in between rounds.

good stuff . good match
Re: Loma vs Linares
btw i dont recall linares quitting before. twice the ref jumped in and then once the doctor pretty much immediately said his cut was too bad to continue. he hasnt lost in many years and is arguably at his peak now. eddie hearn surely knows by know not to underestimate him.

Run to 140?!?
He's already AT 140 genius!! Given the fact that both Mikey & Loma started their pro careers at 126 a showdown at 140 makes perfect sense.
Re: Loma vs Linares
135 makes the most sense, thats where mikey says hes best and thats where lomas now.Best Coast wrote: ↑14 Mar 2018, 01:05Run to 140?!?![]()

age by age mikeys been 1 division ahead of loma. mikey only had 1 title fight at 126 before he was 2 pounds over and failed weight and had to go up. that was when he was 25,, conversly loma didnt fight above 126 till 28
mikey turned pro as a teenager (at 131) and loma turned pro at 25/26 (126) btw, they started at very different points

Re: Loma vs Linares
You make valid points (unlike the clowning I was responding to before yours). Personally I want to see the fight at whatever weight but if Loma is the warrior he seems to be he shouldnt have a problem going to 140. World titles in 4 different weight classes is something any potential HOFer should aspire to. It is rare enough to be a good milestone.jamamb wrote: ↑14 Mar 2018, 01:09135 makes the most sense, thats where mikey says hes best and thats where lomas now.Best Coast wrote: ↑14 Mar 2018, 01:05Run to 140?!?![]()

LOLOLOLOL>
Please stop talking about Mikey Garcia ever stepping inside the ring with Lomachenko. IT'S NOT HAPPENING. Garcia will never sign on for it and be embarrassed and exposed like all of the rest of them that get in the ring with this kid. Garcia will undoubtedly use the "Bob Arum Excuse" and claim that he can't work with him...please. Just stop, we've all seen this stuff before,
Loma/Linares will be fun for as long as it lasts. The talent level in that one will be unmatched this year I think . And anyone knocking Linares for lacking heart is ridiculous. He's had issues with conditioning and of course scar tissue but you guys are talking about something a boxer did 6 or 7 years ago. That's a lifetime ago in boxing years. He's twice the fighter now than he was then. He'll still lose but it will be a great ride.
