Eubank, Spike, Ryder, Lee are all absolutely miles away from being elite level tho. Some of them aren’t even proper world level.brilo33 wrote: ↑10 Feb 2018, 18:43well that is the thing jamab bjs beat eubank jr , spike, ryder , lee ,all them fighters are winning now and getting better , as where with triple g opponents that he has beat bar Jacobs have been on the slidejamamb wrote: ↑10 Feb 2018, 18:18 well ggg didnt beat saul so i guess you think bjs record of wins is better than gggs? it may be!
but about lemieux specifically, i mean even hittable ggg looked slick against him. that never happened vs anyone else, even stevens, monroe, adamu, rosado, etc. just wonder, even though it was very nice win, if perhaps it doesnt say quite as much about bjs vs elite opposition as we think
look at how lem couldnt land a punch on ggg but then how jacobs landed over and over. just way different levels

compared to who on triple ggg record , he didnt beat saul. were bjs beat eubank jr who could be 2nd only to Ramirez in the super middle weight , spike who will probably fight for a middle weight world tittle ,john ryder who sparked out Nielsen he could have a european title chance, lee was world champion and won his come back fight,

ya mate good point
Re: WHO WINS? Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin vs. Billy Joe Saunders
Bill would have moments against ggg and definitely bring his best in there, but I doubt he'd have enough weight in his shots to keep ggg honest
So I'd still go with ggg
So I'd still go with ggg

I think the difference between Lemieux and GGG is huge and we saw that when they fought. BJS looked amazing vs Lemieux but one of the things that GGG does 100x better than Lemiuex is cut off the ring. Saunders struggled and was in survival mode when Eubank was pressing forward in the second half of their bout and based on that I think GGG would win the fight. You can't really judge off the Lemiuex fight.

A very hard fight but as time wears on the fight leans more and more in bills favour, ggg still wins for me though but bills in there with a good chance

They need to make this fight. Everyone was waiting a big fight - Canelo rematch. It's canceled, so another big fight must be instead, not some mismatch. And Saunders is an interesting option. Golovkin doesn't feel comfortable against slick boxers. Saunders won't try to brawl or to survive, he can be slick and he will use it. Almost everyone underrate Saunders, but that can be competeive and exciting clash of styles, if BJS is ready like in a Lemieux fight.

For me it's the only interesting fight at 160. I would be interested in seeing Eubank Jr vs GGG because it would have to be a barnstormer of a fight. Neither would really have anywhere to hide. But with BJS vs GGG I could see BJS doing GGG 12-0 if he can get it right. He would probably have to spend the first round in marathon mode just to get the hang of GGG's speed and how he cuts the ring off, then if BJS is able to outmanouver GGG he could definitely win. He's never really going to get countered by GGG, he's going to get hit when he gets cornered or holds his feet too long. I reckon BJS can do it myself. I think it's relatively clear that BJS beats Eubank again on points. Eubank has improved since their fight but that style is just his achilles heel.DrDuke wrote: ↑04 Apr 2018, 11:10 They need to make this fight. Everyone was waiting a big fight - Canelo rematch. I wouldn't bet against Saunders making it to the end, but I would bet on Golovkin if the odds are 2/3 instead of the 1/4 that I believe they should be. And so if Lemieux's made the bookies nervous, I welcome this fight!
Re: WHO WINS? Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin vs. Billy Joe Saunders
even face defense ggg looked a masterful slick boxer vs lemieux, lem can be hugely flattering to ones boxing skills
ggg never looked that slick again
ggg never looked that slick again
Re: WHO WINS? Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin vs. Billy Joe Saunders
Based on what exactly? I certainly give BJS a better chance than most against GGG, but the idea he can achieve a shut-out against him based purely on his performance against Lemieux seems bizarre. I also love how GGG has apparently been reduced to a plodding banger in some people's eyes, despite everything from beating Alvarez in his last fight through to his stellar amateur record.TheLeprechaun wrote: ↑04 Apr 2018, 23:13He's either going to get starched inside the distance because his running doesn't work or win a running decision for me.
Do I think BJS can win? It's not out of the question if he puts in a career-best performance against an aging GGG, but even in best case scenario I'd expect this to be far more likely to be a razor-thin UD rather than a shut-out.

Or win early and tire or get caught, but he seems to have a good survival mode, and decent toughness so maybe he could still take GGG the distance, I'd be surprised if he could though.TheLeprechaun wrote: ↑04 Apr 2018, 23:13He's either going to get starched inside the distance because his running doesn't work or win a running decision for me.
