The next opponent for Joshua if he defeats Parker ?
What do you predict, supposing Joshua will beat Parker ?
Re: The next opponent for Joshua if he defeats Parker ?
I say Miller. He's a fresh face and Joshua should beat him silly. The timing for a Wilder fight looks like Fall 2018 or Winter 2019.

Povetkin..
WBA/WBO will order Joshua to fight him.. still a good fight.

They must do it, WBA has talked about it even after Povetkin-Hammer.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑16 Mar 2018, 13:32 Povetkin..

Miller would be the toughest opponent for AJ right now, but I think that's down the road...
I think they want to do Wilder next because that's so big... Wilder didn't impress me vs Ortiz... He nearly got knocked out by a fat old man on meds.... I think they want to do him because he got hurt pretty good... Ortiz was one shot from winning.

It’s no other reason for Povetkin to come to UK and fight tier-3 fighter on Joshua undercard!!!DrDuke wrote: ↑16 Mar 2018, 14:22They must do it, WBA has talked about it even after Povetkin-Hammer.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑16 Mar 2018, 13:32 Povetkin..

I have read that Hearn has been talking recently about Miller as the next Joshua's opponent.
Re: The next opponent for Joshua if he defeats Parker ?
You're kidding me, right? Povetkin is the #2 HW in the world. This isn't unproven, looking like absolute garbage, fat-man Ortiz. Povetkin is a better fight than Wilder.Luis Fernando12 wrote: ↑17 Mar 2018, 02:40Hopefully this doesn't turn out to be a disgusting / gruesome mismatch.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑16 Mar 2018, 13:32 Povetkin..

I think it depends on how he looks.
If he looks sensational in defeating Parker, then I think his team will try & swerve a Wilder fight to try & 'marinate' it, although it doesn't really need marinating.
If the fight is close; if he struggles, or the ending is controversial, then I think they'd try & get Wilder next, just in case the fight gets lost.

Re: The next opponent for Joshua if he defeats Parker ?
I'd agree with that. I have a feeling that Wilder's team would like one more bout to see if Wilder can take some 'lessons' into the ring without too much risk.Syntax Error wrote: ↑17 Mar 2018, 15:01 I think it depends on how he looks.

I'm not even sure if Alexander Povetkin even deserves to share the same ring with Anthony Joshua as a worthy opponent. Nor do I even believe they even belong in the same weight division.Mexi-Box wrote: ↑17 Mar 2018, 14:21You're kidding me, right? Povetkin is the #2 HW in the world. Povetkin just looks too small to be anything more than a minor nuisance to the much bigger sized Anthony Joshua. Also, Povetkin's small size puts him at a high risk of getting squished like an irrelevant rodent due to how much bigger in size, physically stronger and more muscular Anthony Joshua is in comparison. Joshua may just very well turn Povetkin into lentil soup. It's like a bear / elephant vs a mouse.

I hope Wilder will show up screaming and Tyson Fury will come up screaming as well, then Fury Wilder will get made, just like AJ vs Povetkin.
Povetkin, Wilder and Fury all have a history with each other.
I see a mini tournament between AJ, Povetkin, Wilder and Tyson Fury in the make, and I think it can easely fill any stadion out there about 4 times at least.
I even think Wilder vs Fury should become the next main event, with AJ vs Povetkin on the undercard.
And then the winners vs the winners and the losers against the losers on the event after.
So even if Wilder loses against Fury, he will still have a match left against the winner of Povetkin vs AJ.
I'd love to see that tournament.

I believe you’re overestimating the popularity of the likes of Deontay Wilder and Alexander Povetkin, with both typically drawing crowds of around the 10K mark for their fights.
I doubt that Tyson Fury is able to fill stadiums either, unless he’s either sharing the ring with someone called AJ or headlining a particularly stacked card (depending on the promoter he eventually decides to join forces with).

Excluding any bouts against Wladimir Klitschko, Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder and Alexander Povetkin have never filled stadiums.

It'll be a voluntary defense, to take the pressure off of AJ because back to back tough fights are impossible for anyone to live up to and continue winning.

Let's check Povetkin...
Povetkin vs Hammer:
Stadion filled
Povetkin vs Duhaupas:
Filled
Perez:
Filled
Really, you're kidding right?
Tyson Fury then:
Filled
Really, it's only Wilder who seems to struggle with it, but even he can do it with Fury as an opponent.
Re: The next opponent for Joshua if he defeats Parker ?
Should be Wilder but Hearns gonna hang right out that and 'build' it up! Fuckin cop out! It'll either be Miller or the Whyte v Browne winner!
Re: The next opponent for Joshua if he defeats Parker ?
EO, I can not agree with you about Tyson Fury. He would attract more than 50 000 attenders in Russia, against Povetkin, in Ukraina, against Usyk, in Poland too, against any of top Polish HWs. Even , I can imagine him facing Filip Hrgović, in Croatia, believe me, it would be, at least, 50 000 persons in Zagreb, or Split.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑19 Mar 2018, 07:59I honestly don’t understand the relevance those videos have in the context of my post you quoted. Considering my enviroment, he is a very, very popular fighter (boxing is not popular, at all......and generally speaking, Brits are not popular, too in the my country, and the whole region).
I have not any rational reason to exaggerate, everything I have written might be strange, but it is true..................

Re: The next opponent for Joshua if he defeats Parker ?
With the exception of the Klitschko bout, Tyson Fury has never filled stadiums. This point cannot be refuted.
His popularity and fame may have risen since he captured the world title, coupled with his highly-publicised out-of-ring problems, so it’s entirely possible that the self-titled ‘Gypsy King’ could potentially sell-out a stadium, but no one knows for sure, since he's never done it before.
As I’ve already said before though (in this thread), if Fury joined forces with Matchroom... and Eddie Hearn ensured he headlined a particularly stacked card, coupled with heavily using Anthony Joshua’s name to promote the event, then perhaps Tyson could sell-out a stadium. Who knows?
In terms of Alexander Povetkin, isn’t he in a similar situation as Tyson Fury, whereby his name alone hasn’t been big enough to sell-out a stadium, with the notable exception of the Wladimir Klitschko bout?
Perhaps I’m wrong, but doesn’t Povetkin usually attract audience figures in the region of 10K to 12K?
Re: The next opponent for Joshua if he defeats Parker ?
EO, it is very difficult to explain Fury's popularity, there are so many factors (his weird personality, victory over Wladimir, unusual way of life, generations of fighters in his family, politically incorrect opinions)................
I would like to see your prediction about number of attenders, let us say against Povetkin in Russia or against Usyk in Ukraina.
I am not sure about China or any wealthy Arabs country, but in UK and/or Eastern Europe he is capable to fill the greatest stadiums (this is my opinion, and I hope we will be able to evaluate this, sooner or later)..............
