He's either 6'3" or he's not. Parker looked the same size. Haye might have had his kitten heels on tho.leejonesjnr wrote: ↑18 Mar 2018, 17:29I haven’t met Parker but Haye is a ‘tall’ 6’3”
The pictures I have seen of them together give me no reason to doubt Parker is 6’4”

Re: Joe Joyce vs. Dereck Chisora
I'm surprised Haye wants Joyce in so soon against Chisora.
But a victory pushes him forward and sets up potentially bigger fights.
Could be an interesting fight and a big learning curve for Joyce, no matter the result,

A man looking the same size in a picture can easily be an inch taller or shorter
Re: Joe Joyce vs. Dereck Chisora
celebheights says haye is 6'2, i trust them more then pretty much any source. height inflation is absolutely rampant in sports.
what is a tall 6'3 anyway? you think haye is really about 6'4? dont think so..
https://www.celebheights.com/s/David-Haye-47971.html (the other guy is throughly measured 5'8 and said haye had a footwear advantage, which theres also a pic of)

Re: Joe Joyce vs. Dereck Chisora
at least 3-4,, so then he could be 6'3, which is my guess on his actual height
parker = 6;3
haye = 6'2
bellew maybe between that at 6'2.5 (bellew used to be listed at 6'2.5 btw, suddenly jumping to a 6'3 listing in his late 20s)
celebheights also has bellew at 6'2.5. they dont list parker.

Re: Joe Joyce vs. Dereck Chisora
Simple, I’m a fraction under 6’2” and stood face to face with Haye he seems more than an inch taller, though I’m happy to accept that he is just physically large which may increase perception of his staturejamamb wrote: ↑18 Mar 2018, 19:10 celebheights says haye is 6'2, i trust them more then pretty much any source. height inflation is absolutely rampant in sports.

Re: Joe Joyce vs. Dereck Chisora
interesting. and that guy in the picture is 5'8 and thats him next to haye, even with footwear documented ( half an inch advantage for haye). does not look like someone who is nearly 6'4. but maybe he is and the 6'2 listing is wrong. ppl in the comments section say theyve met him like you have and think hes no taller then 6'2, though maybe there making it up and just want him to be listed at shorter then his billed height.
either way, for parkeer and haye i think were looking at no more then an inch off the billed heights, so nothing major at all, but personally i do think they are each shorter then listed
haye 6'2
parker 6'3
bellew 62'.5 like he used to be listed before a random increase

Me saying he is higher than he is or someone else saying he is shorter is equally pointless and odd.
I’ll stick a picture up shortly when I get a minute, but then of course you’ll have to decide if I’m really 5’10” and pretending to be taller

Can't believe we're just discussing the heights of boxers..
Don't mind me..

Re: Joe Joyce vs. Dereck Chisora
the guy in the pic is the owner of the site and uses himself very often as a reference. hes also got pics of himself being measured and lists it very precisely, so while i dont know about other ppl i think hes pretty reliable in his 5'8. hes also sure to note footwear, which ppl often dont, it can easily create a false inch or so of difference

you post on so much stuff but you find it bizarre? i mean height is a very relevant quality in boxing, so it makes sense that ppl would be interested in it and whether guys are really as tall as they say. height inflation is rampant in sports and personally i think a lot of guys arent as tall as billed....
look at donnie palmer, was maybe at most 2 inches taller then joyce despite being listed 4 inches taller. and i highly doubt joyce underbilled himself in big bad hw boxing.

I don't mind any discussions.. I agree, height is very important when it comes to boxing. It's the debate I found a little funny..jamamb wrote: ↑19 Mar 2018, 09:24

What would you suggest a reliable source to find out a boxers height? Anyone got Haye's number?

I’m slightly under 6’2”
I’m wearing boxing boots and Haye has trainers on but he’s easily an inch taller

Re: Joe Joyce vs. Dereck Chisora
I like what I've seen of Joyce... like the way he gets around the ring, nice and loose yet plants himself when he lets go.
Like his build too, strong, fleshy and not too lean.
Looking forward to seeing him progress...... and it's good to see him out so soon as they need to get a wriggle on and get him through the gears, that lad on Saturday was a f*cking catastrophe......

Re: Joe Joyce vs. Dereck Chisora
steve goodwin just posted in the records section that the fight isnt happening, at least for may 5
Re: Joe Joyce vs. Dereck Chisora
Terrible fight choice for Chisora ... if he loses his career is over.
Unless he’s getting massive paydays

Re: Joe Joyce vs. Dereck Chisora
I was very close to Haye when Groves beat Degale and I thought “oh, he’s not that big at all”. A couple of years later I actually met him and face to face he seemed huge and every bit of six foot three. Maybe he had steps in his shoes or something but he is a very big bloke compared to most normal humans.leejonesjnr wrote: ↑19 Mar 2018, 09:07Simple, I’m a fraction under 6’2” and stood face to face with Haye he seems more than an inch taller, though I’m happy to accept that he is just physically large which may increase perception of his staturejamamb wrote: ↑18 Mar 2018, 19:10 celebheights says haye is 6'2, i trust them more then pretty much any source. height inflation is absolutely rampant in sports.

DelBoys post fight interview was class. Actually enjoyed the full production last night from start to finish which is rare for a Sky card these days!

Thought it was an amusing way to say not interested to be fair. He has a great habit of rubbing people up the right way. Needs to fight somebody with a pulse again next.
Re: Joe Joyce vs. Dereck Chisora
Apparently if Haye doesn't pay him what he wants then Takam is a possibility. That could be a bit of a ding dong if DelBoy is in shape and motivated.Yes We Can wrote: ↑25 Mar 2018, 08:38Thought it was an amusing way to say not interested to be fair. You're probably right though, he does look to be pricing himself out of the Joyce fight.
