I think trying to predict Boxing rankings in 2 years time is an exercise in futility.

Considering boxing moves in slow motion, they will probably be near identical to what it is now.

Every boxing fan likes to be right predicting the future of some boxers. Of course, it should not be considered too serious.
I have been right about Usyk, Crawford and Spence recently (we will know more about M. Garcia, soon), about Brook and Khan.
I failed because I had expected much more from Solis and Helenius, partly Gamboa, too...........
Right now, I feel Dubois and Hrgović are coming, and I am not so sure for Joyce (let us say, partly).............

You're way off on Dubois. Give him like 5 years, not 2. He's done well for someone his age, but he is likely 7 years away from his prime. When Wilder was at the same stage of development (fighting guys like Harold Sconiers and Damon Reed), he was still 3-4 years away from reaching the top 10; and Wilder was already older and more accomplished in the amateurs. There are a lot of prospects that are closer to contention-ready, like Nathan Gorman, Tom Schwarz, Peter Milas, Mladen Miljas, Jermaine Franklin, and Oleksandr Teslenko. They are all older than Dubois, higher in the rankings, and are all likely to peak sooner than Dubois does. Dubois reaches the top 10 AFTER they do.

Agit Kabayel has a good chance of being in the top 10 by then; he is only 25 years old and already #19. He doesn't have to do much in the next 2 years to make the top 10 -- just beat Joey Abell and Eric Molina. He's on the rise while 8 of the people above him (in boxrec's current rankings) are going to be in a steep decline.

Well, he will be at his prime at that age, and he doesn't fight that often, I don't see him losing in his next 4 fights so yea, I think Kownacki will be in.
Junlong Zhang continually faces bums and cruiserweights, so he won't lose any match either so very similar story I guess.

First you say that two years is short time and then you throw 5 fighters in the top 10 that are nowhere near it currently... Good one :OhYes:

Kownacki will probably never break into top 10. I doubt that Zhang will either.

Dubois and Joyce will probably get there but I don't think that two years is enough time. At least not inside top 3.

My guess is that Fury will fight couple of times and then loose to AJ and then disappear again. He might be considered to be inside top then at the given date.

hard to say, ppl mentioning a guy like dubois, but on what basis can you predict how hell be stepped up? i can easily see in two years him not having been moved beyond british level.

i think hes very valued by warren and at his young age i doubt there will be a rush or much throwing him into the deep end. so even if he really is that good he could still be not really in the top 10 ballpark.

Kownacki is literally already in boxrec's top 10. I wouldn't doubt it too hard.

Although, my realistic expectation is that in 2 years time, Kownacki will get another win and rise higher, get a title shot, lose, and be back outside the top 10 by the time March 2020 rolls around.

Well rankings done with computer will always have some flaws. I guess that Kownacki got most of hes points from Szpilka who got most of his by beating the way over the hill Adamek who was still pretty highly ranked at the time.

In reality guys like Szpilka and Kownacki should not be anywhere near the top 10.

Much bigger flaws are actually cruiserweights that gain some weight and are heavyweights all of a sudden.
At one point Tony Bellew was the rank 3 heavyweight of the world! XD Lol

Two years is 3-4 fights in the current pace. That's not enough time for guys like Dubois and Hrgovic to raise so high.

Gassiev vs Usyk winner might very well be in the top 10 in two years. He is just one or two HW wins away from having pretty high ranking. I guess that the looser might fight one or two CW matches first and try hes luck in HW year or two later.
