I was tempted to shorten my own response to something along those lines. But thought it better to expand slightly. Thanks for your enlightening input anywayoogiebe wrote: ↑19 Mar 2018, 21:51Like a Boss wrote: ↑19 Mar 2018, 21:47There's a chess match going on in the background very few of us are privy too.DOH!

lol i dont know why such cryptic and roundabout answers are needed if someone really knew what they were talking about
hearn used ortiz as a roadblock to wilder-josh? by working with him just for the allen and scott fights? erm, okay
im guessing someone mistkanely thought hearn arranged ortiz-wilder, and later realized it, but he wasnt working with ortiz by then

I really don't get the whole conspiracy here...jamamb wrote: ↑19 Mar 2018, 22:04 lol i dont know why such cryptic and roundabout answers are needed if someone really knew what they were talking about

I thought someone was coming up with some dark conspiracy perpetrated by Hearn. That he was pulling the strings or something, but I just couldn't get the whole thing.oogiebe wrote: ↑19 Mar 2018, 22:06I really don't get the whole conspiracy here...jamamb wrote: ↑19 Mar 2018, 22:04 lol i dont know why such cryptic and roundabout answers are needed if someone really knew what they were talking about

Re: The next opponent for Joshua if he defeats Parker ?
like a boss said in this thread that hearn seems keen to avoid wilder for now and on another thread he said he used ortiz as a roadblock to the fight. maybe, but id be intersted to know how he did that. i mean i dont see why it requires such secrative answers.
Re: The next opponent for Joshua if he defeats Parker ?
Maybe he'll tell us.
Re: The next opponent for Joshua if he defeats Parker ?
Doubt Joshua will fight anyone dangerous should he get by Parker, mind you who is really out there other than Wilder, Ortiz or perhaps Fury.
They'll milk this cash cow for as long as possible.

Re: The next opponent for Joshua if he defeats Parker ?
I'm beginning to believe it. Now Joshua doesn't want Wilder in the ring?! What is he...some sort of little baby? Hype the fight! Hype the sport! No...just don't let Wilder in the ring...I just don't get it, unless that NZ spot on Joshua is true.
Re: The next opponent for Joshua if he defeats Parker ?
I'll guarantee you as sure as your sitting there that they're very concerned with Deontay Wilders power, if they tell you any different they're lying to you.
My guess is you won't see Wilder v Joshua until 2019.

Re: The next opponent for Joshua if he defeats Parker ?
I don't think it's a guess. The New Zealand story alludes to Joshua being nervous
Re: The next opponent for Joshua if he defeats Parker ?
they both have serious power no doubt
Re: The next opponent for Joshua if he defeats Parker ?
You could put it that way, you could also see them being unconcerned with Wilder short term due to the fact Joshua could coin it in with Parker, an easy follow up and Fury by the end of the year.
Tyson is already doing the rounds on media so you know something is in the offing.
It buys a potential Wilder v Joshua fight time to build and promote throughout the rest of the year I would have thought, let's be honest Joshua isn't that well known in the U.S and neither is Wilder so they know there's work to be done out here.

Yes...yes you could. But I wouldn't.Evander wrote: ↑19 Mar 2018, 23:00You could put it that way, you could also see them being unconcerned with Wilder short term due to the fact Joshua could coin it in with Parker, an easy follow up and Fury by the end of the year.

Re: The next opponent for Joshua if he defeats Parker ?
Thing is boxing is a business and promoters look to protect and maximise their investment:
Put yourself in Eddie Hearns shoes. His asset is Joshua:
Joshua made $13m fighting Carlos Takam: Takam took away $1m. So in idiots terms the wages that the fight generated was $14m
Wilder made $2m fighting Ortiz. Ortiz took home $500,000. So again; in idiot terms, the wages the fight generated was $2.5m
If you were Eddie Hearn why would you agree to give wilder a 50-50 split when at his best he has only been able to generate peanuts compared to what AJ generates even fighting mediocre guys.
If you were Hearn would you even give Wilder 40%? As a businessman probably not
Pulev accepted 20%
Bet Povetkin would take 20% to fight AJ

OK then Wilder keeps his strap refuses the offer and see you later.
Re: The next opponent for Joshua if he defeats Parker ?
Would u be arsed if you were Eddie Hearn and that was the case ? Make yourself a shit load more money putting your asset up against lower risk fighters
Plus how long will Wilder keep fighting for (say as an example) 80% of a purse which equates to $3m before he agrees to take %25 of a purse that equates to $5m
As a boxing fan I’d make AJ Wilder tomorrow andpay them 50-50 . But you can see Eddies point of view from a business sense

Re: The next opponent for Joshua if he defeats Parker ?
Lets say that Joshua's team estimate that one time out of five Wilder is able to land on AJ and win the fight. Other times it is AJ by KO or points. Sounds like pretty good odds?
Why would AJ's team risk that 20% loss chance when they can make loads of cash by beating easier opponents where the chance to loose is much smaller? With Wilder's high purse demand does the fight against Wilder generate so much more cash that it is worth the risk?
I don't think that the fight is big enough yet. Wilder is just starting to earn the superstar status needed to make this fight.
My guess is AJ will fight Povetkin, Pulev, Miller and Browne/Whyte winner before the Wilder fight will happen...
I am afraid that AJ will create the kind of effect that Wladimir did where highly ranked Guys will only take easy fights and wait for their payday against him. That would kill any competitive matchmaking in the division
