Who's Vital Klitschko??

Do you mean Essential Klitschko? Or Important Klitschko?

Maybe his brother? Crucial Klitschko?

Mayweather, Ward and B-Hop had the best Ring IQ of the modern era

Bob Fitzsimmons seemed to be a pretty crafty guy back in his day by all accounts. Gene Tunney as well.

Hard to say who had the best ring intelligence in Boxing history, but it's usually a good sign whenever you see a fighter being troubled by his opponent and within a few rounds he's figured out what was troubling him, and neutralized it that he's pretty damn intelligent in that ring.

Well as I've recently learned ring intelligence is actually avoiding fights. Therefore it has to be the bloke from Conan The Destroyer.

I voted for Wilt because he was intelligent enough never to enter the ring.

Ali showed the most intelligence by NOT entering a ring with Wilt Chamberlain after promoting the fight with him.

Chamberlain sure as Hell TRIED to get the Ali fight... Chamberlain and Ali went around promoting the fight but Ali kept coming up with excuses like the following for why he wouldn't sign the contract... "I accept your challenge AFTER I fight a few more contenders. IF I beat them" ..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mF57P1uUG0s

Would somebody please tell me why you're on TV promoting a fight with Wilt Chamberlain if you want to fight a few more contenders FIRST???? .... Admit it folks... That doesn't make a lick of sense.

PLUS, If you're on TV promoting a coming fight with Wilt Chamberlain... WHY is Wilt "rushing things" by asking you to sign the contract -- and asking Ali HOW LONG it's going to take him to SIGN the contract??? How is that rushing things?

So as a highly regarded contender of the same era yourself, how would you have done against Big Wilt? Obviously you both have iron chins.

Yeah, Wilt was permanently messed up by Clyde Lovellette so there is good reason to believe those thin legs would have done the funky chicken had he ever been man enough to step into the ring. As it were he opted to cheap shot Lovellette instead, a cowardly but wise move.

I would evaluate my chances and do as Ali did here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mF57P1uUG0s

"Sure I'll fight you Wilt... After I fight a few more contenders.... Hmmm....IF I beat all of them of course.... Hmmmm...."

Wilt got smashed with a cheap shot elbow that didn't put him down... Wilt put Lovelletter down and out from one quick right when they were face to face... In Bill Russell's autobiography he says.. "Everybody found out what they wanted to know... Wilt can hit.." Lovellette was Russell's teammate -- but Russell states that he walked up to Chamberlain and shook his hand for knocking Lovellette out.. "He had it coming for a long time Wilt." he told him... That was the last time Lovellette ever played a game against Chamberlain... If Wilt hit him full steam he would have murdered him.

Ali promoted the Chamberlain-Ali Fight with Wilt… He did TV appearances with Chamberlain... so why did Ali make excuses whenever he was asked to sign the contract??? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mF57P1uUG0s

I voted for "Dr. Iron-Fist" because after all he is a Doctor and you just can't get that title bestowed upon you

didn't Wilt Chamberlain have some dental problems later in life that caused him great pain to the end
from being hit in the mouth with an elbow during his playing days ?
I think they were from implants.

Yes he did, he never fully recovered from the beating Lovellette administered. Luckily his dad talked some sense into him and kept him out of the ring. God only knows what Ali would have done to him.

I thought Wilt Chamberlain had said his father was a big boxing fan.
How many boxing fans sons were ever in a position to challenge for
the world's HW Championship ?

That's TRUE.... Chamberlain got hit with heavier blind side elbows from 260-pound centers and forwards than he would ever take from the comparatively tiny gloved fists of Ali.... Ali kept making excuses for not signing, telling Chamberlain not to "rush things" .... saying he would "accept your challenge, AFTER I finish with a few more contenders IF I BEAT THEM.... WOW!!!! WTF are you promoting a Wilt Chamberlain Fight -- if you want to fight a few more contenders FIRST???

Ali's last and WORST excuse for not signing to fight Wilt... "Herbert Muhammad won't let me fight Wilt."

Here's Ali hemming and hawing all over the place https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mF57P1uUG0s

Let us all be reminded how shite super tall and super strong Ed "Too Tall" Jones was at boxing, here's his 4th pro fight.

Ed "Too Tall" Jones knocked the 248-pound Jim Wallace out in 2 rounds... Nothing wrong with a good solid victory... Too Tall was undefeated... He just couldn't get appropriate fights... Nobody has to fight killers -- that's the problem with Boxing.

Too Tall started his career in November of 1979 and this was December of 1979... So he'd been boxing for ONE MONTH.

Jim Wallace was not a good opponent.... He wouldn't make a sparring partner... You can't learn anything boxing a guy like him a round and a half... Too Tall needed opponents who could last and box... It's the only way you learn... You heard Archie Moore say he would make Too Tall a 50% better boxer in 30 days if he could train him..

That's what Too Tall needed, a trainer and a matchmaker... The Boxing fraternity froze him out.

Defensive Ends have limited skills...They shove blockers out of the way and get the Quarterback...or haul down runners. That's ALL they do... Basketball players have to dribble, shoot, pass, intercept passes, run the break, read the open court, finesse defenders, get open, block shots, grab rebounds, and beat opponents to loose balls... To dominate on both ends of the court like Chamberlain did you have to learn ALL the skills and it requires a much better athlete.

Plus, Chamberlain was 4 inches tall than Too Tall Jones and 30 pounds heavier. His hand size and reach were unreal.
