Bob Arum no longer involved with Manny Pacquiao
"Bob Arum no longer involved with Manny Pacquiao, even in a Jeff Horn rematch - says lawyer"
Manny Pacquiao is working on his own accord and is free from obligations to Top Rank and Bob Arum, according to the Filipino Army Colonel's lawyer.
Eldibrando Viernesto has stated Pacquiao can work on his own promotions moving forward and Arum is no longer part of arranging deals for forthcoming events.
“I reviewed the contract and I found out that Bob Arum has no more say even in the rematch, should there be any, between Manny Pacquiao and Australian boxer Jeff Horn,” Viernesto told philstar.com.
The news comes on the back of Arum admitting he was unsure about his future involvement with the eight-weight world champion, who intends to plough on with a fight against Lucas Matthysse in co-promotion with Golden Boy and Oscar De La Hoya this summer.
“De La Hoya called up asking me if we could reset the Manila launching after the Holy Week. That’s why it (Manila press conference) was moved to April 4,” Pacquiao also told the news source.
The Matthysse fight has been set for June 23 (June 24 in the Philippines) and will take place in Malaysia. There's yet to be any formal announcement regarding TV rights or distribution but it's thought ESPN will continue to broadcast Pacquiao bouts due to their separate agreements with both Top Rank and Golden Boy.
The 'Pacman' has been looking for an opportunity to fight closer to home and taking on Matthysee in Kuala Lumpur seems an ideal scenario for the boxing legend.

I doubt we’ll see Manny Pacquiao facing the likes of Vasyl Lomachenko or Terence Crawford anytime soon, unless Top Rank pays an awful lot of money for the right to stage one of those passing-of-the-torch type bouts, since it’s seems the Filipino legend is no longer contractually obliged to “dance” according to Bob Arum’s proverbial “tune.” ![[icon_e_confused.gif]](./images/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif)

Arum has been a d!ick to him over the last few years. As if he called all the shots (kinda did) and as if he had control over Pacman.

Long over due. Pacquiao should have parted ways with Arum a decade ago. He had more than enough star power and if he could have got the right people around him, he could have made way more money.

Getting the right people is Pacs biggest problem. He's a nice guy who trusts too many people. I would l9ve to audit his finances.
I would bet he has no where near the amount of money as a guy in his position should.
I feel sorry for him

This is a good thing for Manny.

This tells you all that you need to know about Arum. That snake would sell out his Mom if she had any more value left in her that he could extract for his wallet. Just think about the Horn fight for a second. Manny should NEVER be traveling to Australia to defend his title in this guy's backyard. Why Manny signed it is beyond me but Manny was the champion and still one of Boxing's top draws. Manny shouldn't have been rolling over for anyone at this stage in his career. Arum sold him out and used Manny's blood and sweat to build up another fighter. Sad.

It is way beyond your stilted comprehension that Manny is loyal to those close to him and beloved by his people for it and putting them on the map of the global conscience as he made Arum and Freddie into rock stars. There are very few as on only "ONE" in his prototypical 3rd world of the most abject poverty and death and disease statistics that could ever rise to such royal successes as he has fought for, but you and your addled dimwits screamed at him to take the pauper's $40 million TUE proffered him when Arum got him $180 million?
!!!BRILLIANT!!!
He was the 2nd highest paid athlete in 2015 and speaks 3 languages. All Manny has ever done in this world is enhance everyone around him from his people to the fighters he fought to Bob and Freddie to his best buddy Buboy whom he dragged out of the 3rd world gutter to give a higher purpose in life besides the drugs and squalor he had sunk to. Heckfire, Manny even enhanced the soiled reputations of TUE and Travis Tygart and USADA as apex drug cheats, just the kind stuff you sweeties love to wallow in.
If Manny goes broke, it will be because of the largess of his huge heart that has donated untold tens of million$ to build clinics, hospitals, and schools in his province. You tubbies won't have to worry about being broke because you ain't never gonna be worth anything to anyone worth anything.

One of the nicest charitable gentleman in the business. But his lack of intellect has put him in a financial bind.
He has been taken advantage of by scum like Arum. He should never of had to worry about money.
His charitable contributions are admirable but like Sugar Ray Robinson they will lead him to poverty.
When the money stops for Manny the so called friends will leave him.

Isn’t it kind of funny that a bigoted serial adulterer like Manny Pacquiao, who tried to avoid paying taxes to the tune of tens of millions of dollars to both the US and Philippine governments, is being portrayed as some sort of obscenely saintly individual that lives an altruistic and virtuous lifestyle?BroughtonRulesRefuge wrote: ↑26 Mar 2018, 11:37- What' this Teensy, and your bitty teletubbie Nate Jr wallowing your fetid squalor didn't ever think you'd be pulled up for the insipidity of your stupidity in your desecration of Valhalla?tiny_acres wrote: ↑21 Mar 2018, 09:40

Re: Bob Arum no longer involved with Manny Pacquiao
Apparently Pac is now welcoming Arum back into the fold for his discussed bout with Matthysse in July.
Someone must have clued in Pacquiao that his TR contract hasn't exactly expired.
The last thing a 40 year old Pacquiao needs right now is a lengthy contract dispute with Arum, who would undoubtedly chew him up in court. Time is fleeting for the Filipino great. He can't afford to sit out for a few years.
I'm sure Manny means well. But he's not a brain surgeon and probably is poorly guided by his posse of hangers-on and leeches.

- Oh my dearest Outed Frightened One, I feel sooo, soooo sorry for you.
Manny never had a purse seized by the IRS as happened to your dear TUE consecutively against Marquez and Mosely. Manny and Arum produced the paperwork that proved he paid his taxes. He's still in dispute in good standing with the Philippine Govt over what he owes them, and neither you nor I would know the efficacy of their tax grievance. Manny has become a political target from his Congressional duties, DUH!
As to your charge of bigotry, what, been staring into your Mirror, Mirror on the wall, who's the vainest of them all vanity mirror? Sure, Patsys of today are gonna prattle about such nonesuch like that kid I saw entering a maze of mirrors who shat himself.
Well done, son!
I don't presume to pass judgement on impoverished 3rd world folks birthed into a steaming cesspool of pollution, morbidity, and corruption as to how they should think or act, but on his worst day he was never such a derelict dullard as you demonstrate, so scat thee to a nunnery to play at thy farce.

1) Nike cut ties with Manny Pacquiao over his homophobic bigoted comments, costing him millions of dollars.
2) He also admitted to being a heavy-drinking serial adulterer (or at least he once was for a very long time)
3) And he almost certainly had serious tax issues with both the US and Philippine governments (owing to the tune of tens of millions of dollars to both countries).

- No evidence has been provided that Arum "raped" Manny and he's "dumber than a box of rocks,"
are pretty well exposed as Mannyphobic not that it would bother him in the least. He's used to western cultural insults
And it's also irrefutable that water is wet, sky is blue,
And rocks is dumberest,
And such are you,
When Bell and End come together again.
And how delightfully sweet, just in time for Spring!

Re: Bob Arum no longer involved with Manny Pacquiao
Assuming the WBA strips Keith Thurman of the title, due to recently suffering another injury setback that has scuppered his latest comeback plans, Manny Pacquiao may be elevated to becoming their 'Super' champion if he manages to defeat Lucas Matthysee.
