The Gibson stoppage was ridiculous. One of the worst I've seen in many moons.

Garcia looked very impressive icing Vargas. A future champ for sure!!

nice kos by lagos and garcia, although garcias opponent looked tiny, i noticed he fought jamie mcdonnell at 118

A nice promotional trick Oscar has used in the past (like when Canelo had WW Khan as a challenger for his MW crown). If you really want your guy to shine, put him in with a guy moving up in weight.

In Garcia's case, putting Ryan in with a natural 130-pounder with Vargas' experience/credentials would have been a little risky. This telecast was specifically to showcase Garcia...that's why ESPN ended the show as soon as Ryan pole-axed Vargas. Normally ESPN cards go a full 2 hours, even if it means throwing in a "walkout bout" or two. This show cut away to Sports Center as soon as Garcia was done (well under an hour & 1/2).
