Michael Fafera. Started boxing in 2016 for our charity shows in York to raise money for York special care baby unit. We are doing our 6th show next week and have cracked the £100,000 barrier and ALL money goes to charity. We've won fundraiser of the year awards in local media... I think Ned Stark on here has been to a few (I don't know him) and will confirm everything and that Mike has only been training since then.daviddee wrote: ↑24 Mar 2018, 04:15Sounds like a chancer far too much experience to. Beat Conception inside a minute in the first round. He's had harder fights up here to be honest. 10k was an absolute gift!

Re: Cashfighter
He wanted Concepcion. We knew he would try and bang and probably be a bit overconfident. I've seen his last few bare knuckle bouts and he looked crap. He's also nowhere near an 85kg fighter whereas Mikey boils down to it, is 23 and very strong.
Re: Cashfighter
i mean i guess some guys just got it. makes you wonder where that type of guy would be at if hed been boxing since just a wee lad.
Re: Cashfighter
Amazing guys like that, a mate of mine is 24. 6ft 5 and was getting down to 85kg on the unlicensed circuit was seriously destroying everyone. He was also kickboxing at same time. He went to the elite amateurs last year and got shafted in the semi. Referee gave him a count for the most ridiculous thing. Kind of disheartened him but hopefully he gets back into it. He travels alot around the gyms sparring with the amateurs and pros too.

Re: Cashfighter
Some people just have it. In the gloves are off, Lucas Browne was saying he’d never done a thing before his 30th birthday and just started mma without any training.
Re: Cashfighter
I’ve heard of Mike he was training before 2016 to be fair that may have been his first official fight but he was in and out of different gyms training. In saying that heard good things about him if he is winning that easily in this why doesnt he give boxing a proper go?mickey1975 wrote: ↑24 Mar 2018, 05:31Michael Fafera. Re: Cashfighter
That's not true. I am in and out of all gyms round here every day and can guarantee nobody had heard of Mike until he signed for the charity bout. After that he trained with an unlicensed guy who is very keen and takes him all over the place. He can sell tickets but, let's be honest, will his fans have a better night out in the pros than last night? I know he earned more last night than his two pro mates have in their careers combined....

Re: Cashfighter
Fafera looked good in the tournament, but from the weigh in onwards I knew conception was gonna be crap, he looked to me like an alcoholic or something, just something didn't seem right with him. both lads I know who entered both lost to the lad mikey beat in the final. He just held constantly which was frustrating to watch. another lad I know was asked to be a reserve via myself a couple of days before but declined as he was fairly sure he couldn't beat mikey from what he had seen previously. All in all seemed a good experience though for all involved.
