I agree with most of that, but AJ's title was virtually gift wrapped for him.MightyWarrior wrote: ↑23 Mar 2018, 07:39 Am I missing something in thinking Parker has absolutely no chance here ?
He's smaller, not a particularly big puncher, been massively protected and pretty much handed a world title on a plate, and has never really faced a big dangerous puncher...
He's not going to box circles round Joshua, and he's not going to blast him out...am I missing something here ?

I agree too... and yeah AJ's was but only cos Fury went mad and left all belts up for grabs (same with Parker I guess). Difference is AJ stepped in with Wladmickey1975 wrote: ↑23 Mar 2018, 07:51I agree with most of that, but AJ's title was virtually gift wrapped for him.MightyWarrior wrote: ↑23 Mar 2018, 07:39 Am I missing something in thinking Parker has absolutely no chance here ?

Yes I thought that as I typed it, but Josh's easy title win is eclipsed by his great win over Wlad.
Parker looked a possible big puncher on his ridiculously easy way up, but his last few wins seems to show he's only a average hitter.
Quite a few casuals I've spoken to think Parker could win ....

Make no doubt Parker is here to win! looking fit and ready to go, I wasnt sure before but you can see hes put the effort in, in training which makes it very interesting.
I'm still going for Joshua to win though in round 7/8.

dont beleve a 'ridiculousy' easy route includes a tough vet such as carlos t. weve seen plenty of softer ways up. carlos may be ajs 2nd best opponent.MightyWarrior wrote: ↑23 Mar 2018, 08:00 Yes I thought that as I typed it, but Josh's easy title win is eclipsed by his great win over Wlad.

Hughie could outbox anyone in the HW division right now crept he has zero power and felt Parker’s power in rd 1 and knew he had to run or die.
Ruiz is a monster that will emerge soon enough

He was lucky beyond belief that Wlad was old and faded in the later rounds else Wlad would’ve coasted to a decision win .
Carlos Takem 12 days notice to fight for HW title and no sparring Lmao.
That’s the only 2 fights AJ has had , all other fights were against bums ... or do you consider Dillian Whyte who lost to Chisora not a bum?
The only way Parker loses this fight is if Hearns paid Parker to take a dive making boxing just another WWE

Is there any particular reason why Parker has started dressing as Del Trotter?

Oh yeah 100% Joe was always gonna train like a demon for this, the biggest fight of his life, and i’m fairly sure he really believes he’s going to win - undefeated, a hero in his home land and his fairly easy career will have that confidence sky high - but the reality when the bigger and much harder punching Joshua starts crunching him with right hands might be a almighty shock.
Although I guess we should assume he has a very good chin ? I don’t think he’s ever been rocked and he looks very solid, although like I say I don’t think he’s been in with any decent big punchers.
And yes Takam a very decent test, but the type of sturdy, smaller fighter with no big punch who’s ideal for a much hyped fighter heading for the top ( and not deserving of a HW title shot )
Re: Anthony Joshua (WBA, IBF, IBO) vs. Joseph Parker (WBO) - March 31st 2018
beatng carlos makes pretty much anyone qualfed for a shot these days...you see who most of the challengers are? theres really not many fghters wth standout resumes apart from the champs.
carlos better then anyone wlder or maybe even aj beat b4 there shots
my thng wth joe isnt that the opposition has been poor. its that hes been poor . cant see anythng other then a smashng here

I had a dream last night that Parker ko’d Joshua in the mid rounds
Fortunately my boxing dreams are usually a terrible predictor of the real outcome.

When (if?) Joshua does eventually lose, there's going to be so much "residue" all over this forum it'll look like the end of GhostbustersKiwiRider wrote: ↑25 Mar 2018, 14:45As long as there wasn't any, umm, residue, the next morning, you'll be fine mate. Eddie Hearn;
“The weigh-in will be on Good Friday at 1pm, doors will open at 12pm. It’s free entry, but I’m going to make everybody donate £1 to charity, which goes to the family of Scott Westgarth, who passed away recently.
“The Matchroom Boxing foundation will also match every £1 that comes in. So the ticket is free and there will be loads of entertainment going on, but there will be a £1 charity donation on every ticket. And they will be made available to the public on Monday.”

I usually don’t bother with weigh-ins, but I might actually go to this one to support the cause.KiwiRider wrote: ↑25 Mar 2018, 15:51 Eddie Hearn;

I would too, if I could. It's not going to kick off or anything, what with Sir Humble and The Kiwi Mumble. But if Higgie is on the powder again, watch out!
