Well said. People forget lives are at stake. Definitely should be banned for a significant period . Regular testing is the only answer going forwards. At the elite level they can easily afford it.Ketchel wrote: ↑24 Mar 2018, 11:10 What has the world of boxing come to? It is a sad state of affairs when commissions may allow a cheat to fight because he brings money to the sport but for fans to think it is ok for a juiced up fighter to punch another man in the head is very sad to read on here. Boxers die in the ring as evidenced a few weeks ago in the UK. Boxing may look like entertainment to some so called fans but this is the hurting business and guys with unfair illegal advantages should be banned and made pariahs. A cheat is a cheat and should be shown the door, not given the keys to wealth and fortune.
If Canelo is gonna be found guilty would you like to see him suspended and for how much time ?

A thorough investigation needs to be performed, due process followed and if he is deemed guilty of attempting to cheat, he should receive the same punishment that has been inflicted on other fighters in the same situation. A consistent approach should be applied at all times.apollo creed wrote: ↑24 Mar 2018, 07:34If Canelo is gonna be found guilty would you like to see him suspended and for how much time ?

It does seem more fighters than ever are failing drug tests, but it they aren't punished for it, what's the point?

How many more fighters are failing tests now than during previous years?jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑25 Mar 2018, 12:42 It does seem more fighters than ever are failing drug tests, but it they aren't punished for it, what's the point?
And how many of those are escaping punishment?
From what I can tell, a few high-profile cases that are exceptions to the general rule are camouflaging the reality of the situation, meaning that people's perceptions are incorrect, because a lot of bans issued to anonymous fighters are either ignored by fight fans or the media doesn't make the effort to even report those instances.

He hasn't pulled out of the fight when his opponent is obviously juiced to the gills. He'll fight in Texas.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑25 Mar 2018, 12:09 No, if NSAC suspends Canelo (which won't happen unless something else related to Canelo's cheating is discovered), Golovkin will not agree to move to Texas.

It's becoming political. Just depends on the fighter. Mayweather and Canelo are too big to fail.jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑25 Mar 2018, 12:42 It does seem more fighters than ever are failing drug tests, but it they aren't punished for it, what's the point?

What is a point? He already discovered in the first fight that juiced Canelo can take his punches and even have enough energy to have decent last rounds. If chances of stopping the cheater are low and chances of judjes giving him a decision are close to zero, why do that?Mexi-Box wrote: ↑25 Mar 2018, 13:50He hasn't pulled out of the fight when his opponent is obviously juiced to the gills. Does anybody know how these cycles work and how the fuk the peds could make a fighter capable of taking big punches ? I mean is there a steroid that makes your brain capable to absorb better the shocks or whatever ??
I wonder if clenbuterol may be used as a masking agent then what type of peds it masks ?

We don't know everything Canelo is taking. Clen is not a masking agent. It increases your strength and endurance.

Re: If Canelo is gonna be found guilty would you like to see him suspended and for how much time ?
Exactly. Who knows how much golovkin actually pocketed in the last fight. This is life changing money, not just for him but his family. Plus golovkin believes he can beat and maybe stop Canelo regardless of the drugs. He’s at the end of his career now unfortunately. This kind of pay days don’t just happen. Canelo is the lottery just like Floyd was.Mexi-Box wrote: ↑25 Mar 2018, 18:25It's about the money, Lebowski.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑25 Mar 2018, 14:59What is a point? If it was just about money, Golovkin would stay his normal self instead of becoming a direct shooter.Mexi-Box wrote: ↑25 Mar 2018, 18:25It's about the money, Lebowski.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑25 Mar 2018, 14:59What is a point? No, if it wasn't just about the money, Golovkin would've pulled out of the fight instead of just becoming a direct shooter.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑25 Mar 2018, 21:24If it was just about money, Golovkin would stay his normal self instead of becoming a direct shooter.Mexi-Box wrote: ↑25 Mar 2018, 18:25It's about the money, Lebowski.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑25 Mar 2018, 14:59

GGG won't pull out of this fight because there is too much money involved in it, coupled with whatever terms of the contract he has to abide by, as well the cost of his training camp.Mexi-Box wrote: ↑26 Mar 2018, 08:24No, if it wasn't just about the money, Golovkin would've pulled out of the fight instead of just becoming a direct shooter.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑25 Mar 2018, 21:24If it was just about money, Golovkin would stay his normal self instead of becoming a direct shooter.
Tom Loeffler has just confirmed that GGG is definitely fighting on the 5th May, even if it's not against Canelo.
Korobov, Saunders, Murata, Andrade are names of potential opponents that spring to mind, but who knows who'll get picked?
K2 must already be searching for substitutes.
Re: If Canelo is gonna be found guilty would you like to see him suspended and for how much time ?
Canelo should be banned for 2 years and all of his previous fights for the last 2 years become NO Contests.

Right!!!! ... Povetkin PASSES all his drug tests with flying colors but the WBC says they want to "investigate" one of his tests which PASSED, and everybody in America is up in arms and calls him a steroid freak for no reason.Badhusker wrote: ↑24 Mar 2018, 08:50 How about he gets the same as Erik Morales, who was busted for exactly the same thing.

When Jones, Stiverne, Morales, Tarver, Toney, Canelo etc. FAIL drug tests everybody makes excuses for them.

If Povetkin was totally innocent, why did he agree to pay a 1/4 of a million dollar fine?Kalan wrote: ↑26 Mar 2018, 15:49Right!!!! ... If the NSAC wants to cow tow to public sentiment, suspend Canelo for 3 months so this charade can finally be over.
That way the fight will be good to go in September.

Re: If Canelo is gonna be found guilty would you like to see him suspended and for how much time ?
You guys can laugh and grin all you like... Boxing is a totally corrupt sport and unfortunately you have to play by the perverted rules of the guys who are holding the cards... VADA never said Povetkin didn't pass his PED tests for Wilder... They used innuendo to imply a lie... They said he tested "positive" for one (1) test but DIDN'T say he passed the test... He had only 7% of the concentration of Meldonium that was needed to FAIL that test.Counter-puncher wrote: ↑28 Mar 2018, 07:04Badhusker wrote: ↑28 Mar 2018, 06:56tiny_acres wrote: ↑28 Mar 2018, 06:26

It takes at least 6 months for Meldonium to clear your body if you took it when is was perfectly legal (which it was for over 30 years. You can buy it online or over-the-counter, but for political reasons it was added to the PED list in 2016)... You could easily test clear one day and "positive" for 7% of the required level for a failed test the next day -- for the same reason you'll piss more clear one day and more yellow the next.. It doesn't take 5 months for an "investigation" to find that your level of hydration can effect the concentration. For dummies, that means you didn't drink as much water.
The WBC and VADA never said Povetkin failed his test.... They said they needed to investigate one of his tests... That took them 5 months (should have taken 3 days) and the Wilder fight was destroyed by that time... They finally admitted Povetkin passed all his tests and issued their "investigative report" which was full of gibberish and purposely evasive as possible about the fact he passed all his PED tests.. In effect they said, "We can't prove he cheated."
RIGHT!!! ... You can't prove somebody cheated if he didn't cheat.
