I suppose they faked the cuts and lumps on their faces after the fight eh, probably they had a makeup artist in Moores corner to fake the closed eye!!.... really if this was a fake fight I just wish we had some of that going on today!!!....

I just want to underline the fact that I, myself have never believed the Marciano - Moore fight was fixed. It was just something I have heard a number of times and was curious what others thought.

I've heard the rumours previously myself... some people have also said that the Moore vs Patterson fight was fixed... again I disagree... I actually think that very few high profile fights have been fixed and that the 'fix' is largely a myth made up by the media etc...

Until you bring up the name Primo that is. But you have a point. I would agree his highest profile fights were likely on the level....but outside of Sharkey he lost most of those.

Do you think Sharkey took a dive against Primo?... personally I think he was pretty much shot in that fight and got caught by a decent punch...

Same here. The knockout looks pretty real.

I think it was on the level but if it wasn't on the level Sharkey sure wasn't going to leave until Carnera put something real into it. It's been my take that it was real. I'm thinking Sharkey accepted tips on occasion to influence the outcome. But I'm doubtful on the Carnera fight.

Many other Carnera fights had help...I'm guessing unlike Jack, Primo never knew what was what in those go rounds.

Marciano foes

Marciano's best opponnents were only marginally taller than he was so Marciano's height might not have been much of a factor in making it difficult to hit him though he seems to have fought in a crouch.

Tosches talked about a gangster who claimed that Marciano-Moore was fixed. That's bullshit.
Tosches has got a better imagination than Shakespeare, but he seems to think its reality...
