Re: Spoiler : Parker vs Joshua
I had 116-112 Joshua behind his jab in the first half of the fight.
He got sloppy and a little tired in the second part of the fight.
Joshua looked decent but didn't shine as much as expected.
Didn't do much on the inside, although the ref may have had a little to do with that. He didn't allow much if anything.
Scores were too wide but predictable.
Joshua should dominate a worn looking Povetkin, but the Russian could teach him a few tricks.

Re: Spoiler : Parker vs Joshua
Parker is a good boxer. He showed range, speed and fought well on the back foot. I rate him higher. He deserves to be in the top 5.
Re: Spoiler : Parker vs Joshua
Joseph Parker's post fight interview was as classy as a person can ask for. Great guy.
Re: Spoiler : Parker vs Joshua
Ref spoilt what could have been a good fight..
Re: Spoiler : Parker vs Joshua
The ref was a joke.
I had it 119-109 Joshua.
2 rounds nothing happened so I scored them even. Probably the fault of the worst referee I have ever seen.

He was exactly right! It was horrible. AJ held behind the head and hit him with an uppercut at least 4 times, and the idiot ref didn't say a word to him. WTF. Elbowed him to cause a cut. Put him in multiple, multiple, headlocks. The fight was stopped at least twice that I saw, when Parker stunned Joshua. What was the ref doing?
Holy fornicate it was frustrating to watch. I'm not saying Parker is better than Joshua, but at least call it fair.
If I were Wilder, no way would I fight Joshua in the UK.

Re: Spoiler : Parker vs Joshua
I thought Joshua looked pretty good. Just not spectacular. A bit flustered by Parker's speed and movement.
Obviously Joshua's not the ATG that some here profess him to be. But realistically, no one should be considered a great with only 20 fights behind him.
He's still learning.

Re: Spoiler : Parker vs Joshua
This whole fight was sh@t. The ref was bad. The judges were bad. The announcers were wrong. This wasn't good technical boxing, this was two guys showing no urgency and afraid to get hit. I'm not saying the fight should have looked like a fight outside your local dive bar, but it was nothing more than a sparring session. There was maybe two meaningful punches that landed the whole fight. I used to back up the HW division, but I'm sorry, this is the worst the division has ever been, from my memory at least.
Povetkin and Ortiz, even in their advanced age, probably beat both these guys, IMO.

Re: Spoiler : Parker vs Joshua
I felt pretty confident Joshua would beat Wilder, but after that sh!t-show, I don't know anymore.

7-5 Joshua
Re: Spoiler : Parker vs Joshua
Me neither. Which is why I was busting his balls so much. He sucks royally definitely.MontyCircus wrote: ↑31 Mar 2018, 19:01"Hey guys, quit punching each other, this is a boxing match!"
I've seen referees break up clinches. I've never seen them break up mid-punch exchanges.
Re: Spoiler : Parker vs Joshua
Majority of the people on this forum are so f*ckin dumb.
Parker is a damn good fighter. I expected this to be a close fight.
However do think Joshua won it by about 4-5 rounds.

Re: Spoiler : Parker vs Joshua
I had Joshua up by 2 rounds.
I like Parker but he only fights to the level of his opposition
Re: Spoiler : Parker vs Joshua
I think there's a good chance it's the next fight for both of 'em honestly.
With Canelo vs GGG 2 falling through there's a void for a true Superfight this year. AJ vs Wilder would be it, and it's such an attraction that if it's even remotely entertaining they can do it again with a rematch and do big numbers and money again. The only way a rematch would be spoiled is if somebody won the fight in completely lopsided fashion over several rounds. If either of them wins by quick KO there would still be interest in a rematch I think.
Re: Spoiler : Parker vs Joshua
100%...agreed...all I could think of during this bout was how much more certain I am that Wilder destroys him. He certainly didn't want to mix it up tonight. Showed a lot of flaws. Showed me Whyte is not as good as some think.
Re: Spoiler : Parker vs Joshua
Dreadful fight. Pity anyone who actually paid hundreds to sit through that crap.
Re: Spoiler : Parker vs Joshua
it was like he was jealous. I may have seen more corrupt officials. But I have never seen one more inept.MontyCircus wrote: ↑31 Mar 2018, 19:01"Hey guys, quit punching each other, this is a boxing match!"
