Wilder gonna crush AJ
I dont believe AJ really wants Wilder
100%...agreed...all I could think of during this bout was how much more certain I am that Wilder destroys him. He certainly didn't want to mix it up tonight. Showed a lot of flaws. Showed me Whyte is not as good as some think.
It's called a game plan FFS , he won comfortably behind a good jab.
Until this fight people were saying he'd got no stamina , proved ok tonight .

Whatever you say. I didn't insult your sister, so why the excitement?

I knew Parker wasn't to be underestimated. He came in light, moved well and looked to flick the jab while targeting the body. His movement kept Joshua off balance, so he couldn't tee off a straight right.
Joshua controlled most of the fight at range, though looked uncomfortable when Parker got inside in the early to mid rounds.
The ref however, spoilt this fight by breaking up the action whenever the fighters came together. A disgusting performance from him.
Parker did well and will be back. The expectation Joshua has created in recent fights hasn't been met tonight and a few will be looking to put the boot in. Joseph Parker has a solid chin and 'stay the f*ck away' power. That has been proven throughout his career, but most notably tonight.

Parker probably would have got the decision if not for the venue. He should have had at least 3 points taken from him. What Bullshit. Where did they find that ref? Pathetic. So were the scorecards.
Whoa...let's not go crazy now. Joshua legitimately deserved the decision, but it was closer than the scorecards suggested, and the referee definitely intervened for no apparent reason anytime things got overly physical. He seemed to just be averse to any sort of real fight breaking out it was ridiculous.
You didn't mention the several times he held behind the head and hit Parker with an uppercut, plus the multiple headlocks, and the elbow that caused the cut. If I were Parker's people, I would be crazy. After I saw how some scored the first round, when Joshua did absolutely nothing, I knew it would be horrible scoring.
The ref’s comedy show is a likely scapegoat for what was going to be a putrid fight even if Mills Lane came back to ref from the dead.
AJ doesn’t know how to enforce his will yet and Wilder is closer to finding it. So AJ’s tapdance with the Wilder questions were tactical. He’s not ready. Wilder knocks him out if they fight this year.

The ref was a joke.
I had it 119-109 Joshua.
2 rounds nothing happened so I scored them even. Probably the fault of the worst referee I have ever seen.
How could you have it so wide, AND say the ref was bad? The ref being bad is the reason Parker didn't at least get 3 points deducted from Joshua's illegal hitting. At least 4 times he held Parker by the back of the head, and delivered an uppercut.
Is everyone here blind, or didn't notice it because your favorite fighter was delivering the illegal punches?

Wilder is closer to finding it by getting outboxed and almost KO'd by fatboy, old as dirt Ortiz. Yeah, I'm sure Wilder has been imposing his will lately.
Wilder would've lost wide to Parker if he was in that ring. Parker would've Szpilka'd him for 12 rounds without getting caught.

Referees somehow rarely notice this exact fault. Watch Lewis - Grant fight, where Lewis KTFOed Grant with an uppercut while holding his head with a left hand. Joshua's faults weren't as blatant.

Parker didn't exactly set the world on fire in Round 1 either.
The holding behind the head and going for the uppercut thing never really worked or seemed egregious enough to warrant a warning. The elbow seemed unintentional. Things like that happen.

Ref totally ruined fight . I was swearing at ref every time he stopped action for no reason .
I’m calling rigged
The referee stalled the action regardless of which fighter had the advantage so I don't think it was necessarily him trying to help anybody. He just didn't know what the hell he was doing.
Good tactical fight perhaps not one for the tourists, AJ cautious and respectful both fighters showed great defence. 118-110 for me. Dreadful ref. Parker went up in my estimation. AJ controlled a safety first win. Still lots of unanswered questions re Joshua but I agree he is still learning.

Mexi - all due respect, you won't see any top HW's going after Ortiz. He was 3 years younger than Klitchko when he fought AJ. Ortiz was and is dangerous. Unless Joshua fights him, the comparisons are moot.

He was also made-to-order for Wilder. Second counterpuncher Wilder fought (as in his two best wins). That's the reason why Wilder howled for the fight instead of putting the same effort to fight Povetkin.

Wilder and the rest of us only want one fight...Wilder/Joshua. Everything else is poo.

Nah, I want to see Wilder/Whyte and Joshua/Povetkin. Povetkin is still the #2 HW in the world for me.

You realize you are in the minority on this don't you? Or are you an AJ fan that just doesn't want to face that fight win or lose? I'm just sick of the ducking.

I'm happy with that on this forum considering the appalling opinions expressed on here. Also, how the hell is Joshua ducking Wilder at all? Joshua went from Klitschko to Takam to Parker. Wilder went from Washington to Stiverne to Ortiz. Something obviously doesn't match up.

I'd definitely rather see them just go straight to Wilder vs AJ, but if the next card was Wilder/Whyte and Joshua/Povetkin I certainly wouldn't be upset about it.

Don't forget Wilder was signed to fight Povetkin, so no ducking. AJ wants the fight; Wilder wants the fight; we want the fight; Eddie Hearn doesn't want the fight.

If someone can set that up as a mini-robbin, I'm in. Guarantee the fight happens and I'm good. But I'm doubtful.
