Joshua Vs. Usyk

Post by Mexi-Box »

Once again, Usyk straight schools Joshua. People on here know nothing about boxing. First time Joshua faced an athletic boxer and he crapped the bed. Usyk will make Joshua look stupid. :bag:

You sound autistic. AJ didn’t crap the bed, he was just boring and proved he isn’t that skilled really compared to the likes of Lewis 10-15 years ago. I agree Usyk outboxes him, so there’s one person who apparently knows sh1t about boxing but I’d call it 60/40 due to AJs huge size advantage

Joshua will have problems with Usyk's speed and footwork, but only if Usyk fights the same way he fought when he was trained Anatoli Lomachenko and James Ali Bashir. If he tries to fight like he did in the last 3 fights, Joshua will catch him in the first 5 rounds.

You do know his last fight was against someone more talented than Joshua, right? Briedis is a lot better than Parker. Man, I think Briedis can move up and clean out the HW division too. Any version of Usyk schools Joshua.

Usyk is definitely the more talented boxer than Joshua, the big question is whether or not he'd have enough pop to get Joshua's respect, and keep from just walking him down and landing the big shot.

It'd be an interesting contest, but I'd personally hope Usyk's people pick a lesser contender to test the waters at Heavyweight before just throwing him in there with a guy like that.

Maybe a guy like Gerald Washington or something, that way they're at least matched with the size, but not the skill of Joshua.

For now I figure he'll have his hands plenty full against Gassiev in his next bout.

Yeah, we should revisit after the Gassiev bout and see how Usyk performs there. I just don't think he would be wise to go up to heavy.

I think he's going to have an easier time with Gassiev, but Gassiev is a very good fighter as well. The CW division is so talented right now. Usyk, Gassiev, and Briedis could all move up and become the #1 HW in the world. They're all that good.

Parker had enough skills and pop to make Joshua cagey. Usyk will do worse since he's quicker and more athletic. Even if Usyk loses to Gassiev, it's no testament to how he fares at HW. HW has less skilled fighters and Usyk looks much better against big HW's.

Cruiserweight division is as deep as ever right now. So even after Usyk/Gassiev I'd like to see the winner of the Tournament fight whatever Semi Finalist he didn't face in the Tourney, and Denis Lebedev before abandoning the division.

Bellew has said he'd like to face the winner of the Tournament too. We'll see if he sticks to that, but I'd like to see it if he's serious.

Either way regardless of who wins. Be it Gassiev or Usyk, I'd like to see them fight at least 2 or 3 more times at Cruiserweight, but you honestly can't blame these guys if they make the move to Heavyweight because the increase in money when they move up to the Heavyweight division is enormous, and for most fighters it's worth the risk because after all...the money is really what you're doing it for.

Have you seen him against a Big Heavyweight at some point? If so...how?

There's really no way to tell how he'd look against a Big Heavyweight, I think it'd be wise to test the waters against a Gerald Washington type before you go in there with the Wilder's and the Joshua's.

Washington is every bit as physically big as those two, but nowhere near as dangerous power or skill wise. So he'd be the perfect litmus test I think. Dominic Breazeale is sorta like that as well, but he's a bit more dangerous than Washington, and goes for it more.

Usyk presents two problems for Joshua, superior speed, and superior endurance. But we would need to see if Usyk can take a heavyweight punch, he's not exactly built like Evander Holyfield.

Watch his WSB fights. Usyk was schooling super heavies, and they were all more skilled than Washington and Breazeale. Usyk is a HW that boils down to make CW. He's not a small guy at all.

Usyk is going to clean out HW when he moves up even if he loses to Gassiev.

I've been saying it as soon as Usyk turned pro. Usyk is a natural HW.

This isn't a reflection of how Parker made Joshua look bad tonight. I've been saying it long before.

He's not entirely incorrect. I saw some posts of AJ haters that were pretty inaccurate. I'm sure he didn't like my scoring either and I actually like AJ...just hate his promoter.

joes speed did it, aj wasnt hurting in there

usyks clearly not a puncher and thats down at cruiser, but omg somehow joe not hurting aj somehow means any evidence of a lack of power for any fighter is suddenly irrelevant
