Round-by-Round: Anthony Joshua vs. Joseph Parker - 31 March 2018
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Joshua vs. Joseph Parker - 31 March 2018
hmm, well i think povs the type who aj can shine more against
takam and parker had negative survivorness to them, and parker has done a lot of back foot fighting other times, whereas povetkin really just seems to walk forward and play the agressor
and despite the ko of big priceyi dont think povs the ko threat he used to be

to me pov is a good guy for aj to get some momentum back, credible but imo more suited for an aj monster performance

Joshua looked poor, showed a lot of flaws in there. Dismal fight for the 80,000 who turned up. No doubt fanboys on the forum will think he looks like the 2nd coming no matter how he performs.

Yeah , to a select few, Joshua always looks on form

Joshua could of won that fight on the 1-2 alone. Parker was very negative was throwing 90% of his punches out of range and was rushing in when he was trying to get in range. He didn't look very good to me style over substance comes to mind, had good movement on the outside but that amounts to nothing if your not hitting your opponent. Joshua didn't look good himself but done what he needed to win the fight. Both fighters are very beatable

Give it a rest. Parker can't punch & looked poor vs Hughie Fury.
AJ hasn't improved at all in recent fights. Lol @ him saying he "counter-punched" Parker too, he did nothing but step back when Parker came leaping forward. Wlad would have absolutely iced Joeseph Parker.
Joshua simply isn't that good when he's not bowling guys over. Tick tock.

Completely agree That Joshua isn't that good, he's not but he is a level above Whyte who shouldn't of got the nod against an aged Chisora and was in trouble against Helenius. If your not a fan of Joshua that's fine ( I'm not a fan nor do I dislike him) but don't let that cloud your judgement that a mediocre fighter like whyte would beat him in a rematchhappyNY18 wrote: ↑01 Apr 2018, 04:40smiling assassin wrote: ↑01 Apr 2018, 03:53You don't honestly believe that. Thought Joshua did ok- before the fight I thought he might have to come through at least one rocky moment, but that didn’t happen and he came through 12 rounds comfortably. He may not be the greatest ever but who out there is going to beat him?
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Joshua vs. Joseph Parker - 31 March 2018
20 kos in 21 fights. I guess you see what you want to see. Fighting at the top level is hard, before the fight it was getting said Parker will beat him but from the first bell he was on the back foot.
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Joshua vs. Joseph Parker - 31 March 2018
Yeah he does have a big ko % and fighting at the top level is very hard . I don't have selected sight, but I see a very limited fighter in my personal opinion, imo his attributes are outweighed by his faults
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Joshua vs. Joseph Parker - 31 March 2018
My thoughts seeing live was that they both dissapointed. I thought Parker showed the tools to beat AJ, but didn't utilise them enough. AJ was a pretty comfortable winner on aggression for me..... I really do not know what Parker's tactics were. Seemed to be trying wait for AJ to "go wild" and then counter. Parker's reflexes looked pretty sharp to me and from my view (I was mainly watching the TV) if anyone looked more in trouble it was AJ - but Parker just kept waiting and waiting and waiting and when Joshua was taking centre of the ring flicking out the jab - he was winning.
AJ lacked imagination and creativity - did the business to win though but I think was wearing of taking more chances. In some way, watching live it kind of reminded me of the snippets I have seen of Fury vs Parker (a better version) but this time with Parker fighting as Fury and AJ looking one dimensional but winning on just doing that bit more (even if it wasn't effective).
It really was a poor card - the Morgan bout was a cracker as was Price vs Povetkin - the rest was pretty dull.

Underestimate Whyte if you want. Just how much Whyte has improved athletically & technically has been missed by most fight fans. You'll see it soon though.smiling assassin wrote: ↑01 Apr 2018, 04:56Completely agree That Joshua isn't that good, he's not but he is a level above Whyte who shouldn't of got the nod against an aged Chisora and was in trouble against Helenius.
