the most accomplished fighters who turned pro after aj?

Post by jamamb »

josh turned pro in late 2013

virtually no one in boxrecs top 50 hws turned pro at the same time or after, which shows how fast aj has moved

who are the most accomplished fighters (split into hw and non hw) to turn pro in or after late 2013

Lomachenko turned pro 1 or 2 weeks after AJ. Usyk turned pro 1 month later

either works but i said hws first because basically i first thought of this when i saw that in boxrecs top 30 hws everyone turned pro before aj except sergey kuzmin, but then it made me think more generally about other divisions

also, its a fair point that perhaps with this in perspective perhaps we should consider that aj might still might improve quite a bit,

4.5 years pro and at 28 really is still a baby for hws, you can make a feasible top ten that has like nearly half the guys approaching 40, the hws seem to go on for longer and develope later in general. remember that vitali klitschko didnt break out at all on the world scene till he was 33 i think
