Wilder-Ortiz vs Joshua-Parker

Post by dagilechia »

some people now act like Wilder easily annihilated Ortiz and Joshua had a close bout vs Parker, but the truth is that Wilder was almost knocked out and arguably was losing on points, while Joshua controlled the fight since beginning and won almost every round

for me AJ still is a favourite against Wilder

Wilder displayed impressive punching power versus Ortiz.... His boxing ability and defense was less so.

Joshua displayed a great jab and impressive boxing skills versus Parker.... His punching power was not on display.

i think that most of people forget that styles makes fight... did anyone believed that AJ will keep his 100% KO ratio forever?

Joshua is the favourite...still I believe. Wilder was overly cautious for the majority of his fight, only exploding with Ortiz visibly tired. Joshua was on the front foot the whole fight v Parker. And defending well from distance the full time which we haven’t seen much of as he’s usually doing the punching. His punch volume was lacking. His ability to put them together was lacking. Even so...he’ll be able to walk down wilder, defending well, can jab him off balance and even hurt him with a jab and win that way.

Parker fast, wilders fast but Parker is the superior boxer and his boxing movement, skills etc is what kept AJ from hurting him. Wilder doesn’t have that.

I would favour Parker over wilder too.
