This is a pick em fight at the sportsbooks? WTF? Seriously? Lara is going to outbox the hell out of this guy. Anyone else flummoxed by these odds?

We should go all in! Easy fight to pick. I like Hurd, but he's slower than a lot of heavyweights

He's gonna get sniped all night long. Easy work for Lara. Perfect matchup. Hurd is too easy to hit and too slow. Theres nothing swift about him.

Actually most of the odds I see on this bout have Lara a slight 7-5 favorite.
But the close odds don't exactly flummox me.
I don't see it as a terribly easy fight to predict.
Lara certainly is slicker, quicker and boasts quite a bit more experience than Hurd.
Lara is also 35 and really hasn't been in tough since losing to Canelo almost 4 years ago.
Hurd is so much bigger and stronger and blessed with power. He should be a middleweight.
He's also very hittable and not all that fast.
But Hurd always puts a lot of pressure on his opponents and breaks them down. He did that nicely with both Harrison and Trout.
How will the aging Lara respond to that pressure? Despite his flaws, will the younger Hurd simply be too strong for Lara a t this stage?
Or will the technically sound Cuban school Hurd?

Before wagering heavily on Lara....you should watch the Lara-Angulo fight again
Lara is now 5 years older and Hurd is 4 years younger than Angulo was at the time. Lara has only fought 3 times in the last 2 years, and Hurd is much bigger and stronger than Angulo
Anyway....Lara opened at -175 but most of the early money was on Hurd
I'm not saying Hurd will win....just some food for thought....good luck

Ah, i don't know man. I sort of agree with the Pick em' fight here between Hurd and Lara though, i'd probably be betting with Lara. But boy he's in there with a giant this time and this giant has an iron jaw and cuts off the ring better than most out there. Hurd lands one his uppercuts and Lara could be in the ringside seats cartoon style.
Anyone thinking that this fight will resemble the Lara/Canelo fight is wrong i think. Hurd is so much bigger and stronger and he will not be chasing Lara down like Canelo did throwing airballs. Hurd will focus on the body and Lara will be forced to exchange and that's when we I think that we'll see more of a Lara/Angulo. LOVE THIS FIGHT.
