The fact that he got up at 7 doesn't mean he was able to continue. He was KTFO and that was all to it...End of story.TheDarkDestroyer wrote:I would never claim to be an expert. Many people on here have a far deeper knowledge than I will likely ever have. I simply took issue with you saying he couldn't have gotten up at the count of 100 when he got up in 7 and was stopped on his feet. I neither passed comment or offered opinion on the actual stoppage itself, just your lies and nonsense. Go back and read what I said, admit you're wrong and we can kiss and make up. Tell me more about how Celtic and Rangers is a meaningless rivalry. It gets me hot.
Re: Lennox Lewis: A Top 100 All-Time Pound per Pound Fighter?
I haven't argued any differently. You said he couldn't get up. He did. As pictured he was stopped by the ref on his feet. I'll take that as admission of your nonsense. I have a feeling it's the best I'll get. xelmersalsa wrote:The fact that he got up at 7 doesn't mean he was able to continue. In the McCall fight, Lewis got a RAW DEAL BY THE MEXICAN REFEREE. The POINT is, he got KTFO. Yes, he got up at 7. Yes, he got dicked. Was he able to continue? That is the discrecion of the referee. I may say that the referee probably got paid under the table by promoter Don King or something. Lewis should have had the benefit of the doubt. But, I don't think it was a bad stoppage by the referee. Lennox was in QUEER STREET BIG TIME!TheDarkDestroyer wrote:I haven't argued any differently. You said he couldn't get up. He did. The Hasim Rahman was worse! You could have counted until 100 and still, he was out. He got the fuckk knocked out.
For someone to be rated top 100 ATG pound per pound being KTFO by guys that qualities were questionable, is embarrassing. It happened in his prime. The first bum, didn't want to fight, and still knocked him out. The second one, gave him ONE SHOT and it was over. Yeah, he avenged them. It should have never happened in his prime.
Then again, he got knocked the fuccked out, twice!

I thought the rape threats weakened his arguments considerably.

His man crush on Duran makes more sense now, although it also makes me feel sick.

No, I am not contradicting myself. I am saying that Lewis got the RAW DEAL because he thought he could continue. The referee saw otherwise. The fight was stopped of referee's discretion. And I think that it was well stopped. Lewis was leaning on the referee taking the count. His eyes were still blurry. He was in Queer Street.Ambling Alp II wrote:You are contradicting yourself.![]()

Yet you think the fight was well stopped.
You seriously can't see how you are contradicting yourself?
Wow.
Re: Lennox Lewis: A Top 100 All-Time Pound per Pound Fighter?
If there's no Lewis that's fair enough, but there should by no Tyson or Holyfield either
Re: Lennox Lewis: A Top 100 All-Time Pound per Pound Fighter?
That's pretty funny question. Of course, he's there and somewhere in the very top. He was really good, near perfect heavyweight. He had size and that size didn't slow him up. He was very skilled. He had a varied arsenal. He could box rational. He has defeated everyone he had faced and his opposition had been great. He could have outboxed any fighter of any era. He is probably in top 10 P4P list, what 100 are you talking about here?

Holyfield should definitely be there. He starter his career weighing less than 180 lbs and went on to beacome the greatest cruiserweight ever and then has become an undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. Most of his opponents at the HW division were bigger than him, some of the were much bigger.
Re: Lennox Lewis: A Top 100 All-Time Pound per Pound Fighter?
Lewis would have gotten knocked cold if the fight continued... If a boxer is wobbling around and leaning on the referee for support it's a damned good stoppage... You don't want a groggy fighter smashed with brutal, loaded swings.Ambling Alp II wrote: ↑01 Apr 2017, 20:46You think Lewis got a raw deal against McCall.elmersalsa wrote:No, I am not contradicting myself. You've see it and I've seen in... Serious damage results and it doesn't have to be speech, balance, cognitive skills, or coordination... The brain has scores of functions that can be damaged by impact trauma.
