Rigondeaux, the great comeback ?

Post by ValMar »

Is Rigo capable to return on the top ?
If yes, at which division ?
What do you predict ?
Why ?

He's never had much power. Older fighters that have always had to rely on their speed and reflexes don't age too well.

That being said, Rigo isn't ENTIRELY a speed and reflexes guy. He's very well schooled with technique and all that as well, but I don't think he has a style that will see him do well at an advanced age.

So...to put it simply. No he ain't making a great comeback.

He might get another belt but I can't see him doing anything memorable. He's had 18 fights in 9 years. He'll never be active enough. I'm not even sure if he'll fight again.

He was never a fan favorite to watch... He was a great amateur and pro boxer, but one of the biggest jerks ever.

Bye now Rigo

Top 5 boxers in 126 - Santa Cruz, Russell, Frampton, Mares, Valdez. Rigondeaux is still capable to beat them all. Secure fight against one of them before retiring :box: :box: :box: . Than no mas loss against Lomachenko is very bad way to end boxing career.

Because he refuses to learn English.... was very cocky about the Lomachenko fight.... Grabbed and held like it was a Sumo Wrestling contest -- then claimed a broken hand which was not confirmed medically....

I met Rigo at a boxing event. I wanted to interview him, but I don't know much Spanish. I said "Do you know English?" and he shook his head no.

Kalan, his knowledge of English is irrelevant for this topic, absolutely.

Does anyone think Oscar De La Hoya, James Toney, or Felix Trinidad will make a great comeback? If you predicted that they would, would you have been right or wrong?

Rigo is 38, and he is not a HW, but competition at 122 and 126 is pretty weak. There are only two important questions :

1. Is Rigo willing to continue his boxing career ?
2. Is Rigo capable to make proper weight ?

If the both answers are positive, he can become the champion again, without any problems.
