Marco Huck vs. Yakub Saglam - June 6, 2018

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Former cruiserweight champion Marco Huck steps up in weight, as previously reported, once again to the heavyweight division on June 16 in Munich and today Petko´s Box Promotion announced that Huck will face Yakub Saglam, 40-4-0-1 (37 KOs).

Saglam can punch but every time he´s stepped in level he´s been stopped and has lost inside the distance to Manuel Charr, Odlanier Solis and Joseph Parker.

At the same time Huck has looked past his prime in his last few fights so Saglam is in as a live underdog.

Sarah Mahfoud (5-0) takes on South African Unathi Myekeni on April 27 in Hillerod on a Danish Fight Night promotion with the vacant IBF I/C female super featherweight title at stake.

Super lightweight Enock Poulsen (7-0) co-headlines against an opponent to be announced in a defence of the IBF youth title he won on the last DFN show.

Light heavies Jonas Madsen (12-0) and Jeppe Morell (8-2), heavyweight Pierre Madsen (11-0) and cruiser Detlev Rossing are featured on the undercard.

Well, it looks like a good start considering not only the fact of moving up, but also the fact of Huck's recent losses.

Huck is much better in every way...and yet it's still a dangerous first fight. Saglam is much bigger than Huck and is a very straightforward brawler/banger. Given the damage Huck has accumulated in his career this may be a tough first fight at the heavier weight. Of course his skills are so much great it may be moot.

Huck is insane. He may win this fight, but what then?

Washed up former CW champ eons past his prime moving to heavy. Imagine my shock
Of course he realises that at this stage of career he’s got no chance for a title at cruiser and goes for his only decent payday option.
This is understandable but the fight itself is absolutely meaningless.

He probably just wants to finish his career not worrying about making weight. He might not like cutting down to 200lbs..

Like I said in his other thread.. he can still fight lower level HW's that still have a name. He's going to be fighting in Germany where he draws a crowd regardless of who he fights.

That makes sense. It's sad to see this guy end his career as a second rate HW.

More like 3rd rate. But hey, gotta pay these bills.
