Is it not barnburner? I'm waiting for the figures still on that..

Yes it is "barnburner."

But the damn spellcheck has a mind of its own. And if you don't bother proofing your priceless prose.....

I eagerly await the numbers for that ESPN backburner of a barnburner.

Don't tell that to people under 30. You'll confuse them.

New entry

#22: Oscar Valdez vs. Scott Quig - card avg: 1,100,000 (Mar 10th on ESPN)

I take it the fight may have averaged less.. The meter rating was 0.7 whereas the meter rating for the Leon/Vences fight was 0.8.. But unfortunately, ESPN don't average and peak on the actual fights. Just the cards, apart from a few exceptions.

But that 1.1 million figure is significantly higher than the first 2 ESPN cards of 2018.

Those 2 events averaged between 700,000 and 750,000 viewers.

So despite the meager live attendance at Stub Hub arena Saturday (Southern Californians are notoriously frightened of venturing out in the rain) interest in the bout was high.

And that's despite Garcia-Lipinets on SHOWTIME.

This will remain the highest on ESPN until Loma-Linares..

That might do similar numbers to Loma-Rigo card which did around 1.78 million.

Can I get a bit of information here.

How much does HBO and Showtime subscription cost?

Is it like a certain amount of channels? Just 1 channel? Is it worth it?

I pay a package rate ( I had to ask for it. They keep it quiet) of $39.95 extra monthly for multiple HBO and SHOWTIME channels)

Is it worth it? If you like movies it's a bonus. If you love boxing, you can't live without it.

Even if HBO is rapidly approaching SPIKE quality fights.

I’m no expert when it comes to these sort of things, but this figure (superficially) seems not too shabby, considering the nature of the anonymous names that competed on the Top Rank/ESPN fight card.

I don’t think that any of the guys that competed had any sort of mainstream following/crossover appeal.

You're right.. I don't think March Madness had too much to do with it.. Imagine it had been on HBO? :o

More interest in Whyte-Browne than in Joshua-Parker?

Possibly a Final Four NCAA basketball game on at the same time as the title fight eroded Joshua-Parker numbers.

HBO almost always get higher TV views than Showtime, but as stated, some viewers may have watched it online. :maybe:

Unfortunately, I didn't do a thread for 2017.. would have been good. Are there any fights in particular you would like to know the numbers for? I will do my best to dig out anything for you.
