He might just be doing it to give his stories of the life of a boxer, maybe. I went to see calzaghe last week in runcorn it was brilliant but i bet he still has a lot cash left from the last 4 fights.

I’ve my doubts too seems as he’s nearly 50 and still fighting. Hard to know though, maybe he has his money made and just loves the sport but he’s suffered one too many knockouts for my liking.

I don't think money is everything in this case.
What else is Roy gonna do ? Sit at home watching telly.

By doing this he's getting satisfaction from meeting his fans and being lucky enough to be paid !

Happy days all round.

Bit out my way but would love to go to something like this one day. We had tickets for Calzaghe ages ago but it ended up being cancelled.

I live about 20 miles from Cannock and am waiting for Sugar Ray Leonard to come over.

An evening with Sugar Ray Leonard would be a lot better value than having 2 seconds with him at one of those comicons at the NEC in Birmingham.

They are good events at Cannock. Hearns and Duran have been over in the past. :TU:

That’s not a bad price ticket to be fair, if it was closer I’d consider going.

I do hope someone manages to squeeze the phrase “when you beat a legend, you become a legend” into their question.

There's a £300 VIP ticket where you get to fight Roy on the night.

Most punters would be on his list of top 10 opponents.

I'm not questioning why he is doing this. I was questioning his fortune so to speak. Given the fact he is an all time great (albeit it has been damaged over the last few years) he should be worth a fortune but I have the feeling he is not.
