A total mismatch and a nonsensical fight! Anthony Joshua deserves 0 credit for beating Povetkin.
Re: Y AJ may fight POVETKIN next !
I don't know about a 'total mismatch' but it's a fight way down on my wanted list.Luis Fernando12 wrote: ↑11 Apr 2018, 14:05 A total mismatch and a nonsensical fight! Anthony Joshua deserves 0 credit for beating Povetkin.
Re: Y AJ may fight POVETKIN next !
I ain't complaining. Though I don't expect Povetkin will be the challenge now that he would've been a few years back.

Alexander Povetkin is rated 3rd by The RING and also 5th by ESPN according to their heavyweight divisional rankings.Luis Fernando12 wrote: ↑11 Apr 2018, 14:05 A total mismatch and a nonsensical fight! Anthony Joshua deserves 0 credit for beating Povetkin.
A bout between Joshua and Povetkin is not a mismatch by any means.

It's a far bigger mismatch than Povetkin vs Price could ever be. Povetkin is far too small, flabby and short compared to the much more muscular, stronger and more powerful Anthony Joshua. It's one of the biggest mismatches, if not the biggest mismatch that can be made in boxing today.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑11 Apr 2018, 14:13Alexander Povetkin is rated 3rd by The RING and also 5th by ESPN according to their heavyweight divisional rankings.Luis Fernando12 wrote: ↑11 Apr 2018, 14:05 A total mismatch and a nonsensical fight! The much smaller and less muscular Povetkin won't be able to survive the much bigger, more muscular and much more powerful Anthony Joshua's punches. Povetkin may very well put his life at risk of becoming permanently damaged here. A mismatched fight like this should really be condemned and banned in my humble opinion!

What do you seriously expect to see happening in this fight, other than seeing one of, if not the most brutal, disgusting, gruesome and damaging knockout in boxing history delivered by Joshua to Povetkin?oogiebe wrote: ↑11 Apr 2018, 14:20Boy are you in for a surprise IF this fight actually occurs.Luis Fernando12 wrote: ↑11 Apr 2018, 14:19It's a far bigger mismatch than Povetkin vs Price could ever be. Re: Y AJ may fight POVETKIN next !
Povetkin will lose...probably by KO, but it won't be the most one sided beatdown that's ever been handed out. It'll be competitive, and it'll take a while before Joshua can bring the hammer down. Hell I wouldn't be too shocked if he just can't stop Povetkin. Wlad couldn't and Wlad dropped him 4 or 5 times.
Pov's not just some useless lump ya know. You don't get ranked Top 5 in the world by accident.

Re: Y AJ may fight POVETKIN next !
I expect AJ to win but be pushed further than Wlad did. Pedvetkin is an experienced and skilled fighter with enough punch to hurt AJ. If AJ can work his jab properly, he can pick his spot to attack without exposing himself so much; if he can't, then it's wide open.Luis Fernando12 wrote: ↑11 Apr 2018, 14:23What do you seriously expect to see happening in this fight, other than seeing one of, if not the most brutal, disgusting, gruesome and damaging knockout in boxing history delivered by Joshua to Povetkin?oogiebe wrote: ↑11 Apr 2018, 14:20Boy are you in for a surprise IF this fight actually occurs.Luis Fernando12 wrote: ↑11 Apr 2018, 14:19

I'd still rather see AJ fight Povetkin ahead of Jarrell Miller.

Re: Y AJ may fight POVETKIN next !
Let's hope you're correct! Since I don't at all see this fight lasting more than 3 or 5 rounds max. And I see a more brutal and a more damaging KO inflicted by Joshua to Povetkin, than what Povetkin inflicted to any of his past opponents, including David Price. I expect Povetkin to be leaving in a stretcher whilst unconscious for more than 5 minutes with broken bones, limbs, teeth and etc. And I expect permanent life damage for Povetkin after the fight. He might even end up getting Alzheimer disease or Parkinson disease after fighting Joshua. Let's just hope that whatever happens, it doesn't end up too badly for the little Russian!oogiebe wrote: ↑11 Apr 2018, 14:30I expect AJ to win but be pushed further than Wlad did. I genuinely believe that's how much of a mismatch this fight is! If I'm wrong though, then I'll eat my crow and own up to my mistake.

Luis, I disagree but your final sentence give me great respect for you! (I'll hold you to it. How do you like your crow? Broiled? Fried? lol)Luis Fernando12 wrote: ↑11 Apr 2018, 14:50Let's hope you're correct! Since I don't at all see this fight lasting more than 3 or 5 rounds max. You haven't watched Boxing long have you?
Knockouts don't result in guys leaving on stretchers all that often.

No problem friend! Hahahaha. I'd have to think about that one. I'm always open to being corrected. The more mistakes I make, the longer the crow has to be.oogiebe wrote: ↑11 Apr 2018, 14:53Luis, I disagree but your final sentence give me great respect for you! (I'll hold you to it. Re: Y AJ may fight POVETKIN next !
I have a feeling that in this fight, Povetkin will be getting carried off on a stretcher. Not just due to a knockout, but the significant physical damage that'll be inflicted on him by Anthony Joshua. Long term damage!

Ok...Won't happen that way, but he may well wind up KO'd.Luis Fernando12 wrote: ↑11 Apr 2018, 14:59I have a feeling that in this fight, Povetkin will be getting carried off on a stretcher. Povetkin is not so defensively inept that he'll take a horrendous beating continuously, but he would inevitably take some heavy shots, I just don't see the kinda damage you're calling for happening. We'll see though.

Re: Y AJ may fight POVETKIN next !
Yes, this is the fight I want to see, and not that phony loud mouth Wilder who has already chickened out on a fight with Povetkin, and was only able to avoid getting properly KO'd by Ortiz by the timely intervention of the ringside "doctor" (let's see the medical degree!) and the clown dressed up in the referee costume (let's see the referee degree!).
Povetkin by KO in round one. You heard it here first! Don't forget!
BUT...I doubt that they will let the fight happen. They'll find some excuse. Maybe they'll have Doctor Margaret and her NeVADA crew "find" something again. The USSA and USSK don't want the big bad Russians to break up their private tea party.
