I imagine it would be similar to the Frampton model where the fighter goes short as well as these new investors and the whole McGuigan family is on the payroll.

Mmm i did wonder that it may take a fighter naive to the point of Gumpesque childishness to make the whole thing work.

If a promotional company needs cash to invest, i.e for putting on shows, signing on fees, setting up their gym, the return for this investment should come from the promotional company not the fighter.
I hope the board is having a good look at this and the contracts signed.

I wonder how the fighters would feel about this set up ? What would happen if say the fighter wanted a different trainer or train at a different gym ? Would they have to pay for there own accommodation if they've had to relocate, also who would cover everyday experiences ?

I don't believe they are skint - just stumbled on a way to invest with other's money. The worry I would have is if boxers want to leave them, terminate or not extend contracts ?. Horses can't do this.

I strongly suspect they haven’t stumbled on a way to anything. I don’t see how this gets any form of meaningful investment.

Mine too, he was the first boxer I followed. Great days, he was unstoppable in his prime. Phenomenally popular as well

Put in plain English ,, We are looking for idiots with money to fund our lifestyle , In return for said money , you can tell your mates that you are a investor, and owner of a world champion , if we ever find someone stupid enough to sign and get ripped off by us , If we ever find someone , you will also get a reduction in a vip ticket to see him fight ,

But if the above does'nt happen , Aww well shucks at least you can tell your mates you were in buisness with the famous Barry Mcguigan .

Sort of makes Shane look real shonky has well .

Well you’ve got more chance of getting a return on that than you have investing in mcguigans lifestyle fund

He's got the biggest earning potential in the stable. I'm sure there would've been plenty people interested in investing in him.
Exactly the one boxer who looks to have genuine world class potential and the earnings/return that come with it isn’t part of the scheme. Wonder why

Even if I had 5 grand spare I’d rather use that to be VIP with Matchroom.

I like how he says he's only interested in world class talent and wouldn't waste his time in fighters that are ONLY going to box for domestic and euro titles! Really disrespectful comment from a guy who should know better and obviously designed to lure idiots in! As if he's gonna have some global boxing academy with one world beater at each weight who Shane will be training! Shane will be run off his feet ffs if that goes down  How fuckin stupid does he think folk are!!! I mean I payed for Clev v Bellew on PPV but even I'm not that fuckin dense! Little twat!

I'm gonna email Azumha Nelson to see if he fancies coming over and putting the fear up him again! :o

So...... Investors get their money from sponsors and appearances?? what on earth are they talking about. A company comes along gives money to a boxer to promote their company, and the boxer/McGuigans give the money to the investors? Then an organisation asks a boxer to an event and the boxer/McGuigans give the fee to the investors??

Exactly: when a boxer gets to be a world champion, it’s a good guess to assume their ego won’t allow them to be paraded around to make money for their investors.

Bit of wishful thinking that they can discover another Frampton ...

What did Al Haymon do? Am I right in thinking he took a fortune from investors for little or no return? People who know boxing can see these things for what they are.
