Remember

Post by SenorPipino »

Thought it was appropriate to mention that two of the most revered fighters in boxing history both passed on this date during the 1980s.

The immortal Brown Bomber Joe Louis died April 12 1981 at the age of 66 in Las Vegas.

And maybe the finest fighter to ever lace on boxing gloves, Sugar Ray Robinson, passed away on April 12 1989 at his home in Los Angeles.

Two icons of sports, gone on the same date.

Continue to rest in peace legends.

It's amazing that they both passed on the same day.

And both were born in the month of May---Robinson on May 3 1921 and Louis on May 13 1914.

Under the Zodiac sign of Taurus, the rampaging bull.

That would be an appropriate sign for the late Jake LaMotta.
