What matters is how much are Joshua and Matchroom willing to pay.
Joshua undoubtedly wants the belt, but I don't think it's quite that simple, albeit your comment is very fair.

The revenue Joshua generates forms part of the basis for the offer, hence what matters can also be deemed as what Wilder is willing to accept.
Undoubtedly it's a bit of both.

Well , we can gasbag and talk till the cows come home , facts are has i said in an earlier post ,Mcracken was interviewed , and said ouright , Hearns does'nt decide the opponents , Him and Joshua do , and he did'nt want it till 2019,

This offer was never going to cement the deal , and Hearns knows it , what happens now , well i think its safe to assume that AJ is at the top of the tree in the UK , but if Wilder can scream and shout and get more people in the states wanting to see it , the problem then arises he will want more money , stating he's bringing more to the table

I can see a Mayweather , Paccy scenario coming out of this , dragging on and on and on . Until AJ gets beat and i do think he will get beat before Wilder , .

I think this will be his next fight if it's true about the WBA making Povetkin his mandatory, the only way out of that is a unification fight, Hearn won't want AJ going to Russia I doubt.

That's a great point. So it really is a deeper set of choices. If AJ doesn't want Wilder, he MUST fight Povetkin or risk being stripped. If he opts for Wilder, he gets a pass for the unification fight. Hmmmmm.....Wow...why the eff didn't I think of that!? :TU:

Hearn has the bank to make sure that fight isn’t in Russia.

I don't think where the Pedvetkin fight is held is pertinent. AJ is between a rock and a hard place in this man's view, regardless of venue.

LOL! Covfefe, I'm getting dizzy going back and forth on these threads. AJ is more than CAPABLE, but it will be a tough bout and perhaps in a tougher venue. It will be interesting at the least to see how it plays out.

Yes, but my point was there’s no way Hearn will allow Joshua to fight in Russia. It a chance of that happening.

I think Povetkins promotor has VERY deep pockets, they were deep enough to get Klit to go to Russia.

Well on the face of it we can ALL thank the WBA .. Looks like they have threw a spanner in the works , BUT i would'nt be at all suprised if Hearn is behind it , after all he has publicly said Wilder will have to sign soon , otherwise mandatorys may stop it happenning ,, NOW they want to enforce one .

Dunno maybee its me seeing little yellow men hiding under every matress , but gut feelings and years and years of being involved in boxing has taught me one thing , In boxing nothing is as it seems .. It could be Eddie pushing them to push for a mandatory , because it postpones the Wilder fight , till Mckracken wants it 2019 , or it could be it scares Wilder into taking a low ball offer , in case Joshua losses his mandatory ,

Chances are he will beat Polevtkin , but probably a bigger chance Wilder could knock him out , Either way Josh is being made to step on the gas a bit , which is good for boxing and the fans , Me personaly if i was Hearn , i would be wanting the Russian , still keep pushing for Wilder and Whyte , so we could have a good look at Wilder , with the view of 2019 , if things went our way

Wilder last 3 fight attendances come in at around 56k max (2x 19k 1x 17.6k)

Wilder is yet to headline his own PPV, his last fight v Ortiz drew a peak showtime viewing of 1.2m.

Joshua sold 1.5m PPV in the UK for the wlad fight, (cannot find for Takam or parker) but that is huge.

All in all AJ brings 3 belts, he brings PPV in the UK, he sells stadiums and he probably brings alot more of the sponsorship money. 60/40 is the fairest split to both sides given the level thry bring.

If wilder doesn't accept that then it is he who is ducking after his comments in the media.

Does AJ's conviction for drug dealing in his early years mean he cannot visit the states let alone box over there?

He would have to get permission. But it won't be a problem. There have been numerous felons from other countries who have fought in the U.S.

If Price has you flying across the ring like a backhanded fly, Joshua can take your head clean off.

He's got plenty enough to KO Povetkin.

if price has you stumbling like that aj will find a bunch more punches and have you gone

but in terms of just sheer punch power, like the force theyd get landing the same single shot, im not sure if aj hits any harder. price for all his flaws has major power, gave counts to 3 of the 4 who beat him, who were either euro or world level. think they were all single shots too essentialy and he hardly needed to land many shots to have them hurt. he didnt hurt teper but he didnt hit him.

the guy just has no finishing instict or courage or the energy to follow up hard, among a lot of problems. hes become timid even with a lot of the punches he does throw, but when he does put himself into a shot it can be major power.

Enough to stop pretty much anyone I’m sure, but the implication was that he has far greater power than Price.
