I like Allen, but his boxing ability is mediocre at best and he gets hit far too easily.

I'm not entirely sold on Dubois yet, but if he is a fraction of the fighter his team say he is then he should have enough to beat Allen easily.

dont they need glass chins or really little guys for big dan?

i mean dubois wins but god forbid he didnt score a quick monster man blowout. maybe thats why he called dubois out for ages but hasnt gotten it

ppl say dubois has sick power cus he brutalizes guy like dave howe, aj 'one jab' carter, some mexican lhw etc, but if he did something ortiz and whyte couldnt that would really say something

From a promotional standpoint I kind of understand that they want to market a guy (particularly a heavyweight) as a massive banger who finishes everyone.
And select opponents accordingly.

However, it does fighters no harm whatsoever to go a few rounds early on in their career and learn a thing or two about pacing a fight and winning rounds, rather than constantly trying to decapitate opponents from the first bell.

Whether Allen is that man for Dubois I'm not so sure, but he certainly offers more than his previous opponents have.

Allen would at least prove whether dubois is the monster he is claimed.

I notice that when AJ addressed the parker knockdown stories. One he never spoke of was the dubois rumour. I'd hazard it a pure rumour and is being used to build up dubois and his reputation.

If Whyte and Ortiz couldn't budge Allen, it would be spectacular if dubois did it. My guess is that he doesn't take a fight with Allen and carries on down the road of opponents below his level. He should be looking at English, British titles this year. But will end up with wbo intercontinental international type belt after being wladimir ivnoochinov

Allen was on Boxing Asylum some time ago talking about other heavies and said that AJ was a robot, a very good one but a robot who does what is told but lacks his own boxing intelligence to work outside of a plan. But then was talking about Dubois and said that he was a monster, strongest fighter he had ever sparred or fought, proper strong, menancing, natural fighter.

I am not saying I know whether Dubois is any of that but surprised that Allen would want to fight him. If you heard it, you know Allen does not believe he has a chance in hell

I know many fighters find the endless polls tiresome and I do believe they have a place but you are beginning to take this too far.
In the end if you continue like this I guess you will eventually be stopped.
Do it more sparingly and you will be appreciated more.

Allen has called Dubois out, W@rren has responded it can happen. The fight is possible.
Posters opinions are welcome here on how they believe the fight will go.

Cool! Maybe this fight should happen. Allen looks like a credible opponent for Dubois at this point in his career.

Other fights that the Dubois team should consider:

Tom Little
Joe Cusumano
Chris Healey
Siarhei Liakhovich
Michael Sprott
David Price
Mathew Ellis
Shannon Briggs

PS - Just kiddin' with "The Cannon". ha ha

LOL! some of those guys are too experienced to put Dubois in with now. He's got the physical skills, but he's being taken along slowly and I think it's the wise move. We'll find out soon enough if he is for real. Look for him to break into the discussion next year. IMHO.

what about niall kennedy, anyone know much about him?

http://boxrec.com/en/boxer/718566

maybe francesco pianeta depending on how he looks vs petar milas. milas is around dubois age and pro fights and if he can win that handily maybe true getting pineta for dubois, for someone who even if past prime spent a few years contending.

Ian Lewison, Sean Turner or Nick Webb would be a good little step up too. .

Cant help but feel Dubois is going to be stepped up slower then anyone expected though. He will probs fight Sokolowski next with Warren shouting 'nobody wants to fight him'...

Can see the British / CW titles being held up for a while with Hughie / Joyce fighting for them too. Could be a very slow year for big D

He's only a pup mate. It's a marathon not a sprint.,I kind of agree with you in the way I want to see him stepped up but I wouldn't like to be his matchmaker man!

Dubois isn’t with the best promoter regarding being built to learn his craft.

Mr W has had plenty of heavyweights over the years but has struggled to maximise their potential. It’s usually blowout after blowout followed by the step up and defeat.

Allen would be perfect for Dubois right now.
