AJ didn't throw a lot of power shots because the Ref took the inside away from Parker. If not, Parker boring in would have created a lot more opportunities for AJ. Fury's advantage is significantly abated by AJ's size. They will have to teach Joshua how to fight out of holds, or better yet, avoid them; not give in so easily. I think Fury might be toast.jamamb wrote: ↑13 Apr 2018, 18:05even though ajs a big guy hes still giving up like 2 inches in height and around 5 in reach to fury. i dont doubt that fury can jab and fiddle and use quicker feet on the outside and win rounds. also aj didnt throw his power shots nearly as freely vs parker as i expected, it seemed the movement threw him off a bit. that fight made me think a bit, its the type of style fury would use, and we saw how wlad had basically no output vs it.oogiebe wrote: ↑13 Apr 2018, 18:01Totally reasonable. But you all are kidding yourself if Fury would win this fight with Joshua in easy fashion. For one, I do believe Tyson's chin is a bit on the soft side, and if Joshua lands a few of his upper cuts against it, Fury would be in big trouble.
I hate to think this, but if these two ever do get in the ring together, it could end up being an ugly hug-fest. Both being tentative and not willing to commit to throwing bombs, all the while worried about being countered by the other guy.
Late round TKO for Joshua, or a close decision sloppy win by Joshua.

im not sure aj would come in as agressively faced with that as i once thought. but i do think in the end aj sees it through for a win.
Joshua - Fury
Re: Joshua - Fury
Re: Joshua - Fury
fury is a super big guy though, ya, he wont have as much size over aj as he has over most opponents, but we're still talking like a good few inches in height and several in reach
Re: Joshua - Fury
fury signing with warren doesnt add hope. if hed gone with hearn id imagine making that fight would basically be the whole plan. the sky/matchroom hype machine wouldve helped fury more too i think. hed be bigger fighting nobodies then he would fighting wlads.
Re: Joshua - Fury
I gave up guessing Hearn's "strategy." I agree with you on Warren signing. I'd love to see AJ get two fights a year. One fairly easy fight and one against a top 5. He'd be able to take from the gym to the ring more confidently, IMHO.
Re: Joshua - Fury
If he sticks with this current trainer he has no hope , He needs to find someone with a track record , not a yes man who's his mate .
Re: Joshua - Fury
i'm refering to Fury , Joshua has a great well proven coach leading his hand , he has come on in leaps and bounds , seems to be improving in every fight . Fury on the other hand has size and reach, and he has trained his whole life to take advantage of it . Its never been Furys power or chin , thats got him to the top , but more his style of moving and using his size , this is a style thats used by Hughie as well , i just don't think a guy who does'nt have EXTENSIVE experience is gonna do him any good ,
Biggest worry would be while a relativly novice trainer , is trying to impose a different style , he may not pick up bad habits forming , and then when it comes to matching wits with Mckracken , you need someone with experience in your corner , not a guy who's your mate , and his resume is he cornered Saunders for the worst fight of his carreer
Re: Joshua - Fury
Totally agree mate but we don't know if this guy is trying to get Tyson to fight in a different style yet do we? I don't know much about him a part from that night he was training BJS in Paisley and he sounded a pure donk! Tyson obviously trusts him. Why? Well we'll see! I think he's ballsed up moving from Peter but again, time will tell. It's strange that BJS is with Ingle but Tyson is with this other dude isn't it! Why not just go with Ingle? As you said, maybe he is just a yes man? Looking forward to finding outconeye wrote: ↑13 Apr 2018, 22:02i'm refering to Fury , Joshua has a great well proven coach leading his hand , he has come on in leaps and bounds , seems to be improving in every fight . I was hoping folks had grown out of this mass retardation about fury’s chances vs Joshua.

Lets be honest,he has very little chance,Joshua will walk in throwing bombs and would feel confident that nothing dangerous would be coming back at him.Riddick Blowe wrote: ↑14 Apr 2018, 06:08 I was hoping folks had grown out of this mass retardation about fury’s chances vs Joshua.

Joshua found Takam and Parker awkward.
Fury will be an absolute nightmare for him.

Fury may not have the most power at HW.. But he can certainly work away at an opponent. Might be a little boring at times, but he can certainly break his opponents down.. Chisora rematch is a good example.

Re: Joshua - Fury
movement absolutely does throw him off- both Takam and Parker managed to greatly restrict his punch output with decent foot movement and some good torso movement from Parker, and decent upper body movement from Takam.jamamb wrote: ↑13 Apr 2018, 18:05even though ajs a big guy hes still giving up like 2 inches in height and around 5 in reach to fury. i dont doubt that fury can jab and fiddle and use quicker feet on the outside and win rounds. also aj didnt throw his power shots nearly as freely vs parker as i expected, it seemed the movement threw him off a bit. that fight made me think a bit, its the type of style fury would use, and we saw how wlad had basically no output vs it.oogiebe wrote: ↑13 Apr 2018, 18:01Totally reasonable. because Joshua's feet are as stiff as they are, he struggles to put himself into position to coordinate movement and punching and to fire shots off against moving targets. wisely he seems to be conserving his energy/concerned about stamina and not wanting to waste energy missing. this is wise enough against much smaller opponents like Takam and Parker, too short to score against him from the outside.
myself, I'd see Joshua getting to Fury eventually, most likely if he gets him on the ropes and keeps him there its curtains for Fury, I don't fancy him as a big upright target for joshua unless he manages to keep his feet moving.
Re: Joshua - Fury
Before Fury beat Wlad, most people were talking about the strength and punch power of WK being too much for Fury and cited the knockdowns Fury had suffered. He then fights an oddly passive WK, does not actually caught by any power punches to prove the original predication were not based on a solid base and suddenly everyone forgets all their reservations from before that bizarre bout. Oh and then throw in 2.5 years out of the ring, drug taking, heavy drinking, obesity, mental problem and we are to believe he is the boxing master he wasn't before the lay off?

Exactly, it's classic some of these viewpoints. I really hope Fury can get dedicated again so he can fight AJ close to his best, so nobody has any excuses when he gets pummelled.tobyh5 wrote: ↑14 Apr 2018, 07:41 Before Fury beat Wlad, most people were talking about the strength and punch power of WK being too much for Fury and cited the knockdowns Fury had suffered. Fury, if in shape and ready to go, would frustrate the crappola out of AJ. I don't mind saying I'd like to see it.Riddick Blowe wrote: ↑15 Apr 2018, 15:12Exactly, it's classic some of these viewpoints.
