James DeGale vs. Jose Uzcategui

Post by wesshaw1985 »

Apparently DeGale has to face Jose Uzcategui next with no exceptions.

He would be the underdog in this fight. I think he rather vacates the belt and tries to get Groves in the ring with him.

I think Uzcategui smashes him to bits.

Hate to be harsh but it’s clear that JDG is pretty much shot.

He needs to cash out against the Groves-Smith winner and ride into the sunset.

Hopefully he’s allowed to offer Uzcategui some step aside money.

I don’t enjoy seeing DeGale busted up every fight now.

Does anyone consider 'interim' champions to be an actual world champion?

DeGale will need to offer some good money for Uzcategui to step aside.. He can still defend his interim belt.. But I would think he would want to fight and beat DeGale..

At this stage in DeGale's career, a win against him isn't worth as much as it would have been a few year ago.

:TU: He's taking far too much punishment now. Even in his prime he liked to sit on the ropes and soak up digs.

I thought he drew against Truax, and should have had a point deducted for headbutting. Truax isn't a top 10 guy. I found it hard, like you did, to watch James get caught so much by a guy 3 years ago he would have wiped the ring with. I would prefer to remember Chunky 2015 than 2018.

Uzcategui on points.

Dealer is shot but he's got a solid chin. Uzcategui won't stop him.
