Simon Kean v. Adam Braidwood WTF?
Simon Kean v. Adam Braidwood WTF?
So when is this Kean guy going to step it up? Braidwood 33 and hasn't fought anyone. If this guy wants to move up the ranks, he'll need to take some risks.

Be carefull that you don't get banned for making polls like this.
I'd like to see him against Tyrone Spong, but such a fight probably won't happen.
Also, we first have Adam Braidwood vs Hugo Leon, both only have one loss, if Hugo can win it, then it proves that he's better as many might realise. He even made it till the third round against Tyrone, that's quite an achievement for him.

Simon Kean is gonna have to be handled pretty carefully to keep him unbeaten. I doubt he ever reaches the Top 20 based on the reports I've heard about him.
Re: Simon Kean v. Adam Braidwood WTF?
LOL! Banned for a poll? Sure hope not! LMAO! This is a who gives a sh#t fight. I'm giving up on Kean. His lack of fighting anyone legitimate says his handlers are waiting for one good payday and don't want to mess it up. Forgot Braidwood has a fight before this one! Should be NOT interesting.
Re: Simon Kean v. Adam Braidwood WTF?
One of Braidwood's recent opponents former MMA fighter Tim Hague died following his bout with Braidwood. Seems like a decent matchup to me.oogiebe wrote: ↑14 Apr 2018, 16:26 LOL! Banned for a poll? I think you've just set your hopes unrealistically high for Simon Kean's career.
Re: Simon Kean v. Adam Braidwood WTF?
Not at all. I watched him for a spell, but when this fight came out, I figure he's a future journyman. The poll is for Who Cares? Didn't know about Hague. Never want to hear of those events. Very sad...gilgamesh wrote: ↑14 Apr 2018, 16:27One of Braidwood's recent opponents former MMA fighter Tim Hague died following his bout with Braidwood. If Kean can stay matched carefully enough maybe he can get a crack at a big fight.
There's no shortage of contenders with unbeaten records though. An unbeaten record alone won't get you the title shot...at least not until you get some very impressive numbers like 30-0 or more.
In the meantime you need a win over a name...which again I don't know if Kean is capable of.
I think Kean vs Braidwood is good matchmaking personally. If he can handle Braidwood easily it's a good sign for him, but I expect this to be a competitive fight.

We will see, Epic...we will see...He's got about three years to get somewhere. I sincerely doubt he will.gilgamesh wrote: ↑14 Apr 2018, 16:34 If Kean can stay matched carefully enough maybe he can get a crack at a big fight.

Lenroy Thomas for the Commonwealth Title?
Win that and he should be able to get a payday or two in the UK.
Alternatively, he could face some Yanks. Malcolm Tann, Kevin Johnson, Derric Rossy.
Do the US and Canada still have a rivalry?

All depends how much he gets for fighting in Canada, I'm not sure how big the scene is there...oogiebe wrote: ↑14 Apr 2018, 17:20Yeah...I said above that his handlers are setting him up for a one good payday.wesshaw1985 wrote: ↑14 Apr 2018, 17:18 Lenroy Thomas for the Commonwealth Title?

Re: Simon Kean v. Adam Braidwood WTF?
First he has to get by Braidwood. He could win against Thomas. I don't think much of him, especially after his performances against David Allen, fedesov, and Fountain. He is easy pickings in my opinion.wesshaw1985 wrote: ↑14 Apr 2018, 17:18 Lenroy Thomas for the Commonwealth Title?

It's nothing new, Kean and Braidwood have been going back and forth for some time. It's just a domestic scrap, nothing more nothing less.

Re: Simon Kean v. Adam Braidwood WTF?
Braidwood is an okay opponent for Kean, though not a great one. It is important to note that he has only been professional for 29 months, and he has fought 14 times in that time frame, which is almost once every 2 months. Based on boxrec ratings, Braidwood would be his 7th step-up. Given that Kean's best previous opponent had a rating of 29, I find a 33-rated opponent to be ambiguously on the line between disappointing and good. A 39-rated opponent would have been more appropriately steady progress.
The poll is a pretty haphazard list of ill-suited opponents who would kill Kean (aside from maybe Washington). IMO, the poll should be an array of North American fighters rated between #26 and #70; some with previous losses, some without. E.g. Amir Mansour, Gerald Washington, Carlos Negron, Oscar Rivas, Trevor Bryan, Franz Rill, Chazz Witherspoon, BJ Flores, Adam Braidwood, Other.

Re: Simon Kean v. Adam Braidwood WTF?
Wouldn't mind seeing Kean vs Teslenko to find out who the best HW in Canada is right now, but Kean will probably get his record padded until he gets a fight to cash out.
Re: Simon Kean v. Adam Braidwood WTF?
its for the canadians
yes someone like chazz witherspoon would be good for keane next

Re: Simon Kean v. Adam Braidwood WTF?
I see nothing wrong with Braidwood as an opponent for Kean at this stage. The guy's tough, although not a skillful boxer. From where I am 3,000 miles away it seems the heavyweight scene is buzzing in Canada. I never rated Carman but I think Mladen Miljas might have something to say about Kean v Teslenko being to determine who's number one in Canada. Oscar Rivas too I would imagine..
He (Kean) is 29 so he needs to be making his move before long. If I were his manager I think I might be looking at someone like Christian Hammer as a next opponent. Someone well known, a recognized top ten(ish) contender, and someone not too intimidating as a first step up.

Re: Simon Kean v. Adam Braidwood WTF?
Its actually a potentially very entertaining Canadian HW fight like Carman vs Bahoeli was...
Kean seems a little less crude but chinny and Braidwood is crude, untested, but looks like he has ktfo pop.
