Jono Carroll vs Marco McCullough

Post by IrishGuy »

Looking forward to this scrap, lots of good undercard fights on the Frampton v Donaire undercard but i'm excited by Carroll, especially now he's sitting down on his shots more. I think he stops McCullough who looked decent against Walsh before being stopped, but I think Carroll is a level above and still devoloping. Any thoughts on this or any of the rest of the undercard?

This will be more than likely fight of the night. Two boxers who don’t like taking a backward step. Carroll has gotten better in every fight I’ve seen him in. I’m in agreement with you - I think he beats Marco by stoppage but he won’t have it all his own way.

when ive watched carroll ive been shocked by his lack of stoppages . looking at his record you might think hes a total feather fist, but when ive seen him hes been aggressive , explosive, and his punches can really rattle guys and cause them to shell up. im amazed hes scored so few stoppages

15-0 (2) is paulie level stuff, and he was 14-0 (1) going into his last fight

Carroll has one of the most deceiving records for active boxers.

As previously mentioned his KO percentage is low but he hits hard,

He’s worked on it and seems to be sitting down more.

McCullough will come for him, I expect Carroll to get a KO and impress in doing it.

Jono can’t be far off European title mix now.

It’s really poor form by FW that this has been known to be off for 2 weeks but it’s only been revealed publicly today.

Shocked? Jordan McCorry been training for Leon Woodstock and has been told now that they don't want it after being agreed. See people see little things and these guys are constantly taking percentages off fighters by messing them about. Jono got cut 2 weeks ago and they didn't release it cause they will want to give someone short notice against Marco. Ronnie wasn't allowed to fight because it's a dangerous fight...all fights are dangerous

Interesting fight but I fancy Cummings to take it on points. Better form and pedigree.

Really liked the look of Carroll since he won PF. He's a likeable guy as well. This should be a good fight. With it being a North v South contest should see both guys putting it all outthere but I expect Carroll to take it by stoppage after 5/6.

It's quite funny mate cause the people who play the games are the ones Who have never laced them up. I'm so passionate about it because I witness the after effects. The weeks after the fights and I just ask is it really worth say 5k? My brother pays his manager 25% for what? I wouldn't take a penny off anyone who gets punched In the face for 36 minutes. 2 different comparisons here. Jono carroll is a warrior and really wants to fight anyone and you have Lyon Woodstock who pulled out cause he knows there's a chance he would get beat. Jordan McCorry is a decent fighter and they don't wanna fight people with.ambition. I really wish the boxing board could step in and stop the promotors from doing the things they do but unfortunately it's all about the money.

I think this fight called off has ruined the Frampton card.

It would be good if Boxing News actually highlighted this and asked questions of both the BBBoC and promoters.

Called that wrong. I haven’t seen Keeler box like that before. Very, very impressive and it looks like doing a fully pro training camp has paid off big time.
