Amir Khan predicting fireworks, do we believe him?
Amir Khan is more than hinting he might abandon a safety first strategy against Phil Lo Greco this Saturday in Liverpool. He seems to have found renewed confidence working with new trainer Joe Goosen.
With Lo Greco's go forward style it promises to be entertaining as most of Khan's fights are.
There is always a kind of morbid fascination with Amir Khan and credit to him for choosing Lo Greco after a two year lay off. I just hope this doesn't jeopardise (too much) the much anticipated future Khan v Brook clash.

Can't see Khan going hell for leather. Lo Greco is pretty poor but he has a few KOs on his slate so that would suggest he's got more than enough power to trouble Khan if he catches him.
Re: Amir Khan predicting fireworks, do we believe him?
Khan may stop the guy, but I doubt he just goes in there slugging. If he does he's giving Lo Greco his best shot at victory. Khan needs to box smart, he's levels above this guy if he doesn't fight stupid.

I don't know about fireworks, but perhaps shattering glass.

2nd tier fighters that are not great counters.

It probably wouldn't be a bad move comercially for him to have a war with Lo Greco.
It may not be what any trainer would advise him to do, given the gulf in natural ability between the two men. But he should be able to win this fight on the front foot or back foot.
If the fight is competetive the fans will want to see him again, also, seeing him lose a couple rounds to someone like Lo Greco would make the big names start to think that he is past it and he would be more likely to get a big fight next.

Khan's got a nice flashy style
Re: Amir Khan predicting fireworks, do we believe him?
Khan is never in a poor fight in fairness to chicken legs
Re: Amir Khan predicting fireworks, do we believe him?
He’s entertaining because as good as he is offensively he’s only ever one shot away from the fight turning on its head completely.
Re: Amir Khan predicting fireworks, do we believe him?
credit for choosing lo greco? lol
Re: Amir Khan predicting fireworks, do we believe him?
sure, but i mean the op says credit for choosing lo greco like lo greco is some really proven dangerman
Re: Amir Khan predicting fireworks, do we believe him?
To be honest I may as well have never heard of him.
If someone asked me, before this fight was announced , to spend a year writing down the names of every single boxer I could remember. No chance I wouldve written his name down.

It's difficult to think of a fighter with such fast hands and good footwork that is also so vulnerable. He seems to be always struggling with the discipline to stick to the tactics best suited to his natural attributes.
He's a great boxer, the Americans especially seem to rate him very highly, but also a terrible fighter - his chin is not built for going to war with Anybody. With his skill and speed he shouldn't need to but I guess it's a bit like having a talent for something that you don't enjoy doing.
In any case Phil Lo Greco will be counting on Khan being damaged goods and will know exactly what to do. Will Amir Khan let him? Is this Khan v Garcia 2?

Yes!
Like or loathe him, Amir Khan usually produces entertaining or enthralling fights, because of his obvious strengths and flaws.
Khan’s fight against Phil Lo Greco will surely be fascinating to watch, because we don’t know whether the Brit still has it or how he’ll deal with working with a new trainer.
Meanwhile, Lo Greco is supposedly underrated and has enjoyed the benefit of a full training camp for this bout, which means I expect his performance levels to be far better than what we have previously become accustomed to.
Boxing is often referred to as “the theatre of the unexpected”, because anything can happen and sometimes underdogs score upsets, and this is especially true when Amir Khan is fighting, because all it takes is one punch to end the fight.
