Saunders's gave Murray his word that he would fight him in June.

Frank has offered GGG the fight for September.
No he offered to fight him in June OR September

Except Saunders said that he wouldn't be ready for Golovkin in June.
When?

He said he wouldn't be ready for May, he said June or September

Saunders opinion was changing daily. Taking into account previous negotiations with him, it is highly unlikely that the fight would happen as soon as in June.

They said that he wouldn't fight 80% or 90% ready, so with his previous history, June was totally unrealistic.

Spin it if you are a huge GGG fan all you want, but it is bullshit. Canelo failed tests back in February. Team GGG has had PLENTY of time to line up an alternative fight, with someone his own weight that hasn't been off for two years.
When you are an elite fighter, you don't do crap like this. Imagine Floyd fighting a 140 pounder that has been off for two years and unranked? Holy crap he got mega hate bigtime for fight Berto in his last fight, at 39 years old, who was a former champ for two years.
Call it for what it is. Even a stay busy fight could be much better than this. Don't give the lack of time excuse either, because they even said they had alternative opponents weeks ago. GGG gets a pass from most because he is a nice guy, similar to Manny Pac.

First of all, Golovkin's team was informed in March. Second of all, initial reaction from WBC and WBA made everybody think that the fight goes forward.

Name a better fighter who would take the fight at about a 6-week notice, agree to a low purse, make 160 and be competitive against Golovkin?

Besides, boxing is a business, and Armenian Vanes is more marketable in California than somebody like Derevo. They expect ticket sales to break a record.

At this time it's quite obvious that team GGG wanted nothing to do with a legitimate challenge because that person could derail the Canelo the rematch.............................perfectly understandable imo.
He gets a pass.
Once.

What happens this summer?
That's when the GGG/Canelo rematch will be squashed again after Canelo fails another drug test or tries to dictate drug testing terms to team GGG(don't laugh, you know they'll try).
When team GGG once again scrambles to avoid anything resembling a dangerous opponent what are people going to say then?

Maybe not but even with everything in boxing going his way Canelo still fails drug tests.
This problem isn't likely to be an isolated incident for him.................................................it's the beginning.

Doesn't look good for GGG ... this won't enhance his credibility.

Ha-ha-ha. They all become very brave when Golovkin has his next fight scheduled.

Anyway, Billy's opinion changes on a daily basis.

It's a bad fight but I place more blame on Canelo than Golovkin. If he wasn't such a fvcking cheat/idiot [delete as you see fit] then we wouldn't have this problem.

I'm glad Golovkin is still fighting, he's 36 and doesn't have many fights left so the last thing I want to see is to not see him in action. He should deal with Vanes easily and look to get out again twice before the end of 2018. Maybe Derevyanchenko in August/September and then Saunders by the end of the year. Complete his ambition of getting all the belts.

I hope the IBF don't strip him and put Derevyanchenko in for a vacant title because with Rozier as his trainer you can bet your house they wouldn't go straight into a Golovkin fight. They'd be banging on about how GGG "never gave Jacobs a rematch" and how if he wants to fight Derevyanchenko, he needs to fight Jacobs again first.

Hopefully Golovkin can get all the belts, then if the Canelo rematch presents itself then take that and get huge money. If not, retire as P4P #1 and undisputed champion.

Why isn't GGG fighting Demetrius Andrade?

That would have been a much better matchup

HBO find him boring I think. Andrade has 2 more fights left with HBO.

Like it's been said, fights in California. Vanes is local, which makes him more marketable.

This is so funny to me. Why the hell does anyone want or expect another to admit their wrong or apologize on a forum?
It's like we are dealing with 3rd graders sometimes.

I've admitted to being wrong numerous times on here and even apologized a few times for being a dick. But I'll be damned if I'm going to do it because some schmuck thinks they deserve it.

I actually originally was hopeful that Saunders fight could be made and that his injury was just a pretext to switch from Murray to Golovkin., but then I was reading news quoting BJS and Warren and realized that it wasn't going to happen. Now I am supposed to dig out some 2-week old interview, because some schmuck wants it? I have better things to do like digging my nose.
